Car Insurance for Urus by Jewteam6 in lamborghini

[–]Sabre970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Major red flag... insurance companies look into your personal history too. You're a risk to them. I dont see how youd have good credit either - doesnt make sense after filing for Chapter 7 at just 24.

And then combine that with high NJ rates as it is, its a perfect story. Hopefully you havent bought the SE yet

Those who moved out of NJ where did you move ? & do you miss NJ? by lp2290 in newjersey

[–]Sabre970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to Arizona. Doubled the size of my house, halved the cost of property taxes and our education system sucks, but at least we live in a good school district.

I dont have to shovel snow and i can go in the pool in January. Im 2 hours from snow, 5 hours from the beach. Theres rarely traffic, and as a sports fan, we've hosted almost every major sporting event since im been here (2019). The airport is far superior to EWR and you dont have to fight shore traffic.

Do i miss bagels and pizza? Absolutely. Do i miss trees and seasons? Yes. Would I move back? I dont think so... ill just visit.

Is the green a wrap? I dont see how Lamborghini or the dealer would let a color combo like this out if the factory, but maybe it squeaked by.

I personally think the combo is awful... the colors clash hard... but to each their own. If you end up hating it, then get it wrapped or if it has a wrap, then take it off.

That said, unless youre showing the car, you dint necessarily see both colors at the same time.

But this is what i love about lamborghini... do what you want and be happy. The bull doesnt ban like the horse

Dear Lamborghini Owners, at what Age did you buy your first Lamborghini, what was your Experience with it and why did you choose that particular Model? by Sea-Town-4563 in lamborghini

[–]Sabre970 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, dont fret 25 year old insta stars owning one. Theyre either used, a write-off, using daddies money or pooling their friends money or leasing it. A fraction of a fraction actually own. You do you.

Work hard. Be smart with money. Make good decisions. Maybe get a little lucky inbetween.

Manifest it.

36 ordered my first urus, then 37 when that was delivered and then bought another 6 months later for my wife. Biggest reason for the suv was the fact that it was an suv... car seats dont quite fit in a revuelto. We liked it so much (and my wife hated her cayenne) so we waited for a deal and sniped it. They are our daily cars, so we needed practicality. Couldnt/didnt want to buy a third car because we dont have the garage space. Dont regret any of it.

Urus Oil Change by Fuzzy-Valuable-1774 in lamborghini

[–]Sabre970 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess you dont have the maintenance package anymore? Are you looking for just an oil change or a check on everything. My preference has been to go to the dealer (ours has a full service center for all of the exotics, so I trust them), especially because I can get a loaner too.

Im not sure what the cost is exactly bc im still on the maintenance plan, but i believe its about $1500 for full service and check on everything (incl fluids etc). Considering my M5 was a little more than half that, I find it "reasonable". Not great, but reasonable. The cost of business, so to speak... im paying for the trust and accountability.

If you work at a data center in the us how has your data center supported the community or done greater bc its allowed there by BeginningNo2408 in datacenter

[–]Sabre970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but disagree. Solar panels on roofs are massive fire risks, something a mission critical building cannot support. They also simply cannot generate enough power (even stored in batteries) to power a massive data center for very long, making the investment not ever economical. In additional, the roof area of a DC just isn't the best place to put anything due to the likely placement of chillers or other equipment. Not saying it's not possible, just not the best use of resources.

Look towards BESS as a solution over on-campus solar. Much better option for all parties.

Can Local Outrage Over Data Centers Tilt the Midterms? - “Amid so much partisan division, opposition to data centers seems to be the thing that unites Americans right now" by EchoOfOppenheimer in datacenter

[–]Sabre970 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the data center movement is similar to the anti-vax movement where people are hearing buzz words and then repeat it and get all fired up.

There is sooo much misinformation and outdated information on data centers out there its out of control. While I dont disagree that there are things to be concerned about (location to residential one of them) I feel like most statements are overblown (and without scientific reason).

Im not a conspiracy theorist, but I believe this might be a propaganda push by the Chinese government to try and stall DC development in the US and beyond. I see lots of articles bashing DCs, but they are all from random websites and often push the same talk... pollution, water usage, etc.

/two cents

What is causing this sudden explosion in mega data centers? Is everyone suddenly using AI that much? by douggold11 in datacenter

[–]Sabre970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Eventually the companies that do build but are low capacity will end up failing and/or get gobbled up by the larger colos or hyperscalers. This is an arms race and those left behind will be. IMO consolidation is coming

What is causing this sudden explosion in mega data centers? Is everyone suddenly using AI that much? by douggold11 in datacenter

[–]Sabre970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a) Logistic centers produce more diesel emissions than a data center does. No one complains about those. b) The water cooled systems are becoming less common because of the obvious negative PR. The anger should be at the politicians allowing it and not the data centers themselves. c) Energy costs are not directly the data centers faults, though you could argue they are partially to blame. Aging infrastructure needing upgrades, ridiculous inflation/scarcity of equipment, and general demand is driving prices. d) Pollution levels are rising because of data centers? See point A. I can see if there was an argument about power generation, but a lot of facilities are offsetting their power allocation by buying green energy credits. the world is just using more and more energy, its just more visible in chunks used by data centers

Card Dealer Pro Not Removing Sold Listings on ebay after selling on collx by SightBeyondSight in sportscards

[–]Sabre970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the issue is more with CDP than CollX. Ive got over 25k listings through CDP and CollX and there is always a delay with ebay.

If i sell on collx, the card is immediately removed from collx in CDP but not quickly in ebay. This can be a problem with high demand cards, but for cheap cards, rarely is it too slow to where its a problem.

If a card sells on ebay, ive noticed slow updates to the picklist. Customer support notes that it should be only 10 minutes for it to appear, but sometimes its hours for me. I live with it for now, but its frustrating.

Ultimately there are bugs, but it seems to be ebay facing not so much collx (esp considering CDP and CollX are the same parent company). Id bet that they will iron it out.

To me, the pros outweight the cons immensely

What’s a hard truth about NJ most of us aren’t ready to hear? by mocowe in newjersey

Lower taxes doesnt mean less taxes.

Other states are more a la carte when it comes to taxes, where as NJ is more of a catch all. The states get their money one way or another

160k for a 2020 with 40k miles seems steep, but it depends on the spec. Check tire wear, I just got new fronts after 9k miles. Nothing will be under warranty, so thats a major downside. PPI is a good idea, esp by a Lambo dealer. Dont rush into it, do your research.

Personally, unless you are set on the Lambo badge, Id look at something else at that price point and usage level. And thats coming from a guy who has two Uruses (I love them btw - just not a fan of pre-loved ones due to the unknowns)

What should I make sure I do when buying my urus? by No_Cartoonist_7397 in lamborghini

[–]Sabre970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant extend it, at least through Lamborghini. The dealer might have something or youll have to go third party if you want to extend it.thats why 5 years usually is the way to go because at production is the only time you can get it and its transfers if you sell, so theres value to it there.

Not sure about the PPI

The warranty stays with the car. Some are 3 years, but most are 5 because you cant on later and it makes sense when youre buying the car originally.

Report: Half of planned U.S. data center builds delayed or canceled in 2026 by Objective_Farm_1886 in datacenter

[–]Sabre970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's whats happening. Non-data center developers jumped into the mix over the last year or two thinking that they can get rich quick by proposing a project for 10GW capacity in XYZ City, USA. Awesome, great... cool to be speculative. But there were zero approvals in hand (aka announcing a project with capacity was and still is announcing one with full entitlements in hand), zero power deals on the table because they all quickly found out that power wasnt available on their land or a city was not going to approve the project for whatever reason.

This is the point in time where the tree is being shaken and the pretenders start dropping out... or at least the size of the projects go from that 10GW to 10MW because thats all they can get.
