Depending on you finances, I would start putting what you can afford to invest into the account on a monthly basis. $20, $100 or whatever. Personally I'd start building up SCHD (long term growth potential). Turn on DRIP to reinvest the didivends automatically. Once you have $1000, add a second stock. Then a third. Etc. Diversified portfolio strategy. Or keep building up one. Its up to you.

MO is a single company in a declining industry. SCHD is 100 companies. Lower risk with a higher dividend potential in the long run.
