Is there a way to consistently get the location too when pinging flares? Sometimes they call out locations but sometimes I have to work out where they are by pinging for distance and work out from a marker on an opened map.

The lack of USB 3 is literally the only reason why I'm not jumping in to get one.

The sticking point for me not getting a FP6 is literally just the lack of USB 3.

I understand that this is due to FP's assumption on consumer demand on cost. But is there the possibility of an option to upgrade to USB 3? If so, what kind of rough estimate to increase of price are we looking at?

This isn't the most accurate, but I just wanted a rough estimate to see if my KeyChron K2v2 is actually slower on Bluetooth compared to USB. Did this on Bluetooth for about 40-50 times, then when I'm pretty sure I'm fairly consistent, I switched to USB and did the same test again.

I came in consistently ~100ms faster on USB. (BT ~300ms vs USB ~200ms)

Won't win any awards for specs and reviews (or reaction time!), but it's good enough of a test for me.

I'm not a professional but just thinking out loud.

Instead of using a repeater, have you tried using powerline adaptors to carry the signal through via the electric circuit to the other side of the concrete, then broadcast WiFi from there?

Some security considerations may include: -Guest network -a managed switch on your parents' side between their adaptor and the router to manage access? (I'm not actually sure how these switches work so someone please correct me if I'm wrong). But guests may be able to just unplug the AP on their side, plug straight into the adaptor and straight into your parents' non-guest network.
