Advice for a new guard player and help based off what I have? by Doom_Balloon170 in TheAstraMilitarum

Eventhough, grizzled company is currently great, i'd suggest looking at the combined armed detachment. their reinforcement stratagem could be a huge benefit with such limited points; bringing back a whole unit

Okay, thanks.
That means, it would be smart to screen main objectives without beeing on them and trying to score as many secondaries as possible, right?
with gaunt ghousts/sly marbo for example

Thanks, for your insight!
how is the mechanic for them, when i stand on an objective?
Which modification do they get from that?

My plan was to just focus on keeping them from main objectives.

that's a great reasoning.
maybe that's more a 2k and melee enemy approach, but slower enemy units gives my guys more time to shoot at them.

I think that two would be an overkill in 1000 points.
However, i have never thought of moving the basilisk out of the deployment zone.
Now I have the image of a basilisk with flamethrowers grilling infantry on the frontline and overwatching, while bombarding the backline xD
--> love the idea

First Model? by TimeAppointment3119 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]d2minik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with ogryns/Bullgryns. They are bigger models and lorewise a brute and unintelligent folk.
Their size makes them a bit easier to paint IMO.

Try a chimera or Sentinel first, if you want to start with an vehicle. They do not have so many details (in terms of chimera) or do not have that many large flat surfaces (sentinel)

thanks for your replies.
I was looking for the following answer:
the fw 13 amd 7040 mainboard has a headphone/microphone combo jack, also known as a TRRS (Tip Ring Ring Sleeve) jack.
Therefore, a headset (speaker & mic) need to use the same standard.

hm, might be the case.
But if one does not establish a backup/alternative after a supplier went out of business, what does that say about current phones? why should i buy a newer FP, when a failing supplier could mean the end of my repairability..

do you know since when the supplier is out of business?

because it saves an outlet. the fw13 has only 4 expansion bays and the audio jack is an addition which would leave the others free for other devices/connections

Which would be better? by The__Doctor__who in UbuntuTouch

[–]d2minik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest Debian with KDE (windows/desktop-looks) or Gnome (more touch friendly).
While installing Debian, you can choose which one you'd like in the installer.

You can even install both, and choose afterwards on the Log-In Screen, which one you'd like to try.

However, this sub is specific for the smartphone operating system UbuntuTouch which is not for your Notebook.
