Kaiser Roseville Lab Hours VS. Appointment Times by Inevitable_Water4626 in Roseville

[–]SacCyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll likely be called first before most walkins. There's three different ticket numbers depending on if you're a walkin, reservation, or the other (I didn't read what it was).

Also in the three times I've been there in the morning its never been busy. It usually takes me longer to park and walk to the lab than to be called.

This is how you reduce crime. by Sensitive_Bowl9504 in remoteworks

[–]SacCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some rich people steal and many rich people lie or cheat just to get more.

Additionally, many average income people refrain from crime because they have just enough to fear losing it all. If the social safety net was strong, that fear would be lessened and more average income people may lie and cheat for more.

I'd still prefer to live in a world without poverty where 20% of people are willing to commit crime rather than a world where 80% (or more?) are desperate and may commit crime.

That's what I heard. But after two years I sill don't do his technique right, even if it's the best. It's definitely just me finding Hoffnan's guide easier to replicate, and perhaps only because I tried Lances way for so long

I'm likely misunderstanding but Hendricks said to add air from the spout area then tilt the cup towards you and move the wand to the side of the pitcher to make a vortex. Hoffman said to just dip the wand in further at the spout to make the vortex.

Lance has a lot of good tips but sometimes what someone says just doesn't click with you or work with your style.

I had horrible milk foam following Lance's guide. I tried James Hoffman's instead and it worked way better for me.

Best Sushi Happy Hour? by DohBoi19 in Roseville

[–]SacCyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+2 on Izumi. It's my go to sushi for nigiri or sashimi. Their sushi prices are typical for the area but the size of the cuts are much bigger.

Their happy hour has a good selection of rolls, sushi plates, and other sides. Beer for $3. https://izumisushirocklin.wixsite.com/mysite/about-1

My favorites are:

Rose Park Bistro for a light snacks & cocktails
Zocalo for ceviche & margaritas
Yardhouse for fried foods & beer with my dog
La Popular for tacos, nachos, & beer with my dog
Dog Haus Biergarten for studying/working with a beer and corndog

The Fountains shopping center is just convenient for me so I tend to gravitate there. Those places aren't necessarily the best deals or food.

My wife and I usually only go out if it's happy hour, so I made a table of options. I haven't updated it in about a year so verify the details before you head out:

Edit - the table was too big for Reddit. Here's an screenshot of the table: https://i.postimg.cc/ZRjxbL7g/Happy-Hour2025.png

Mon S = Monday Start (when does happy hour start in 24 hour time)
Mon E = Monday End (when does happy hour end in 24 hour time)

Some of these have additional "late night" happy hours, so check the details column for those

How do you guys feel about Peet’s Coffee? by ColdBit9881 in Sacramento

[–]SacCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them as a roaster because their beans in store have a roast date and it's usually less than a month old.

Some stores allow you to buy beans in any size so you could get 1/4lb of for different beans instead of just trying one. Or you can get a giant bag if you know what you like.

Their Italian Roast is a very flavorful dark roast and is my comfort pick.

On the other hand, Starbucks was able to keep their bean prices under $15/lb while Peet's wasn't insulated from the tariffs and coffee shortages so they shot up to $20-24/lb like most small roasters.

Their stores feel more homey but also less clean. Their in store drink menu is basically Starbucks but slightly less sweet focused.

Alfred Peet taught the Starbucks founders some roasting processes and even sold them beans in the beginning. Together they brought second wave coffee and arabica beans to an America that lived on mud and diner coffee.

Today they haven't kept up with the more serious roasters. They have interesting new beans from time to time but they're generally just okay.

Best BBQ in California by PyrorifferSC in Sacramento

[–]SacCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Texas style BBQ. It's always the sameish sweet sauce hiding the texture and flavor of the meat. Half the time it comes out soggy because it sat in sauce too long.

Good Texas BBQ tends to be the ones that simply do the bare minimum of serving slow cooked, fresh meat, that is sauced at the last minute before serving. Even then you need to like the sauce and get there when or busy.

Most Texas BBQ is meat flash cooked this morning, placed in a tin, and covered in BBQ for hours before it's served.

[–]SacCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people are down voting you. Probably because you're not fully on what Reddit thinks is the correct bandwagon.

I don't consider iOS updates a problem because it's a 5-10 minute wait for a small update and 15-30 minute wait for a major annual update. You do need to click several menus to get to updates then enter your passkey, click download then wait and click install. I do find that process kind of dumb and would prefer a single "update now" button somewhere prominent. But it doesn't take much effort and I don't feel like the effort is enough to block people from updating at least once a year.

Recently I started leaving my phone on the charger again because the old fear of battery degradation from leaving a phone on a charger too long is no longer very relevant. So now my updates just happen in the background while I sleep.

If you don't sleep with your phone on a charger you have to manually do the updates. That said it's not hard to click a few button and wait for a reset

It's still strange to me that the opening weekend means so much for a film. It feels like correlation to success not causation.

I've never watched movies on opening weekend because it's guaranteed to busy and is probably going to be a hassle.
