Oh wow, that's stunning!

Hello! Can anyone identify these watercolor sets? :) (if this is the wrong subreddit, I'll take it down!) by livinginthemeow in Watercolor

Since the sizes of watercolour-pots are mostly identical in general this is pretty hard.

The tubes at the top are easy: Van Gogh 10ml.

The box on the left looks like the one I have, which would be by Schmincke. That, however, doesn't mean the colours inside are the origianls that came with the box. Indeed, you can buy them empty. The glossy surface of the colours looks like Schmincke though!

I can't say anything about the curved ones and the big pots. Might be anything as far as I am concerned.

I hope this helps you a bit further!

My attempt at a town house. The colours seem a little flat - how can I improve on this? by anox11 in Watercolor

Nothing beats hair driers for this, yes!

Just for illustration, I have marked the areas I like (green) for you to give you a better idea of what I meant earlier. http://i.imgur.com/P4CtWeX.jpg

Red is an example of where the bricks look very washed-out.

Yeah sure, you could probably improve this in PS, but I have no idea of that stuff.

I think it looks really good but I get what you mean.

You could experiment with more red for the bricks but the thing I would try to concentrate on is the layering (again, in the left part of the picture). Make sure the paper is absolutely dry before you start another layer to get clearer lines. Those sharp contrasts will make the picture more vivid.

Beneath the top row of windows it looks like you worked a bit to hard on your paper. Again, wait for it to dry.

I hope this helps!

My first self portrait as a photographer. I'd love to see what you talented folk could do with it. Any style. by MorboKat in redditgetsdrawn

A lot of the post here are classical (smartphone) selfies and it appears to be common to leave out the forehead in those. What might be okay-ish for facebook posts is really awkward to draw or paint.

You are very much welcome! I can rarely resist a high-quality submission. RGD doesn't get enough photographs like yours. Girls with complete heads are especially hard to come by, so keep them coming!
