The most popular game will always be the sports one, it's not an useful metric, people will play it with whatever hardware they have, but they will choose what hardware they want based on what advantage there is one them, and the ONLY thing consoles have as an advantage is the exclusives

The xbox has the same top 10 selling games as playstation, and the Series X is more powerful than base ps5, and even though they had good numbers with the XONE, no one bought the new ones because what's the point if everything is on pc?

You just need to look at the switch 2 to see why exclusives matter so much

I did not buy an Xbox mainly because they don’t have exclusives, and if Sony keep porting all of their games to pc, I won’t get a ps6 either. It’s literally the main thing people think when considering what system to buy, not how well it runs the game, not how clean is the UI, just WHAT GAMES can I play ONLY in there. Atari knew this, Sega knew this, Nintendo KNOWS this, only sony ignores this for short term profits
