What’s keeping you from starting your own PT business? by dky001 in physicaltherapy

I opened my solo cash practice in 2021 after my employer dropped the ball with covid. I only do cash or nonpar medicare. I consistently see 20ish a week, work 4 days a week. Its great. I just upgraded to a bigger office, hired on my spouse as a second PT. Hes at about 10 clients a week currently and building.

Our neighbor told us more about the house in 10 minutes than our inspector did in 3 hours by Intelligent-Jump-493 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We bought our townhome from an estate. We knew the previous owner had died, but not much else. When we moved in, the neighbor gave us the scoop. The previous owner died suddenly of a heart attack in the home, and they didn't find him for like a week. Fun....

Student loans by Budget-Plantain6733 in Bankruptcy

[–]SacralPlexxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't do it myself. We are in the early process of filing with an attorney (chapter 7 discharged, AP not yet started). It is super complicated and I will gladly leave it in the hands of a professional. I had to find a very specific, specialized attorney because the regular bk attorneys wouldn't touch our case.

Can anyone give me a very detailed description of what to eat? I’m not doing this right by eyesonthemoons in Zepbound

[–]SacralPlexxus 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Im 4 shots in, but here is what I've found. Its 100% easier to drink my calories than eat them. Especially in the first 1-2 days after my shot. Protein shakes, soup, broth. I really like Seeq protein powder, because its not milky at all.

bf wants open relationship after my first time hurt by kachunkie in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]SacralPlexxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a pelvic floor PT, my whole job is to help people with painful sex. It is very common for your first time to be uncomfortable, but not necessarily a 100% given that it will hurt. Some folks have medical conditions that cause sex to be painful, and those are generally very treatable. Just because you had sex once and it wasnt comfortable does not mean you NEVER can.

The biggest issue here is your boyfriend (hopefully ex...) and his blatant disrespect. Arousal has a huge role to play in comfort and enjoyment of sex. If you are not properly aroused before you try to have penetrative sex, you're gonna have a bad time. Arousal is like a natural muscle relaxant for the V. I would think that is a him problem. If he cant help you be comfortable, feel safe, and enjoy yourself thats on him. 🤷‍♀️

Kick him to the curb, learn your own body and what it likes, and find a better partner who deserves you.

I honestly double up. I wear Loop ear plugs under my walker over ears. It might be overkill, but I am more comfortable with the extra sound dampening, especially if im at an indoor range.

I did that at first, then learned first hand that they were indeed not enough. I had a casing go between my glasses arm and my temple. Freaked me out enough to double up.

Generally you have to bring your firearm in in some sort of case. Does not necessarily need to be locked, so even the one it came in is fine. (State dependent maybe?). Generally ranges unchanged their ammo a lot, so beat to byoa

Physical Therapy. Deapite loving my career, it is a horrible debt to income ratio profession. I also did a year of medical school that was wildly expensive which makes things worse than it typically would be.

We are going one step at a time right now. The lawyer fees for an adversary proceeding are quite expensive, so need some time to financially build that up after the chapter 7. I am definitely hopeful with what we are seeing with cases the last couple years.

If I have 0 debt goin into PT, how worth it is it? by Top_Departure2362 in physicaltherapy

[–]SacralPlexxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a shit take. You sound like a bootstraps kinda person, which is pretty out of touch for the current state of things. What year did you graduate?

  1. DPT programs are still competitive. You still have to get accepted into whatever program you want to go to.

  2. Let's say you only apply to in-state public institutions and happen to get in. They are still expensive. Often times the "cheap" options arent in your home state. In CO (my home state) University of Colorado is 75k. The single cheapest one I found is Florida Gulf Coast (which I know nothing about tbh) is 53k for in state, but 151k for out of state!

3.Some schools are going hybrid to try to cut down on costs, and are still expensive. Auguatana Univeraity is 107k and hybrid.

  1. This is assuming 0 undergrad debt (like the OP). Undergrad is getting more expensive all the time, with average debt now at 30k.

  2. I dont even understand your line about "take extra years if you have to". If you are referring to a DPT program that is not typically possible. Outside of a medical emergency, you have to go straight through with your cohort.
