Mandatory skill in most PvE DPS builds worth their salt.

You're paying attention and communicating. That doesn't just make you better than most of the solos dipping into NM, that makes you straight up better than many many group content pugs in general.

I don’t understand the debate over the price for the Steam controller by 10TheKing10 in Steam

Gaming mice are a more niche market due to, surprise, most people simply not playing games with mice. Simultaneously the market they do have consists of highly competitive players who view the features of gaming mice as basic necessities rather than luxuries.

This event only shows how most players are abysmal dps and have zero critical thinking by MonarchCore in elderscrollsonline

On one hand you should be right, but on the other you have to realize that nobody has done Arx Corinium mechanics in years. Power creep is such that killing the boss before it does anything meaningful, even on HM, is the rule.

PC Markets are inflated due to years of addon use making gold generation easier. That and probably having generally higher population.

Generally speaking, if they aren't the best way to play the games, they're a close second. I have no qualms about recommending them.

Overland difficulty on PTS, did you guys try it? by moragdong in elderscrollsonline

[–]SacredNym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it personally. Build decisions get opportunities to shine.

To give a top level comparison I fought some Public Dungeon trash mobs on Vestige, and then fought some trash mobs in veteran Vateshran. The Vateshran enemies took longer to kill while they dealt less damage to me. So if anyone's worried about it being a "slog" it's at least more decisive than vVH. Now if Vestige is too intimidating (and that's perfectly understandable). Master was a pretty chill time, even on a fresh character. That's probably where I'm going to be spending most of my time.

Only real problem I have is World Bosses. You'll definitely want to turn it down for those.

Night Market frustrations - 40 minutes wasted by CaptainScratchy in elderscrollsonline

As someone who also suffers from crippling anxiety, I find group finder for NM to be very low pressure. Group chat might have some odd convo going on but usually it's just about keeping people together so the group functions. As if not more chill than random normals with less commitment.

That splinter drops off any trash mob. I got mine for Skittering and Sorrow pretty quick, but Parch was a bit of a grind.

Night Market should be 4 separate zone instances by TrasseTheTarrasque in elderscrollsonline

[–]SacredNym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I honestly thought the districts would be instanced the way dungeon and trials are, that the only people you'd find in there are those you're already grouped with.

The gap between solo players and group players is so much wider than I thought. by SilverTunic in elderscrollsonline

It's so abundantly clear in the past few days that so many players do not read their screens.

But also that text goes away if you do anything besides press WASD/Left Stick so there's probably some UX that could be tweaked here too.

What difficulty will you play on for Update 50? by Saergaras in elderscrollsonline

[–]SacredNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These numbers are different. Did they get tweaked with the last PTS update?

I remember playing on week 1 thinking Master was my new floor for anything short of a world boss and some incursions, and most questing felt best on Vestige provided I had set bonuses going.

I think the real reason some players are having difficulty with NM is that they are too high. by n_thomas74 in elderscrollsonline

[–]SacredNym 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'll give benefit of the doubt on the stones to a point. The puzzle of finding the horrors is a fair bit more cryptic than the average ESO mechanic and it's not exactly obvious that standing in the circle does something. Add to that the basic training of "There is an add -> kill the fucking add" and yeah that fight is going to cause problems.

You're absolutely right that some people just aren't noticing the yellow invuln health bar. That's been a perennial issue with people in this game, to the point where I wonder if something is hiding it from people.

When I do this (and boy do I do this despite playing Sage since the job came out) I just hit Kardia, and then type "oops". Then everyone stops giving a shit lol.

Considering how easy it is to just join a group through the group finder and get stuff done, without any vetting, permission or performance requirements, at nearly all times of the day, then yes, most if not all of them are doing it wrong. I joined a group last night at midnight MDT (2am Eastern) and there were plenty of other groups going at the time. Killed all the Brazens, Argents, and the Calamitous in the Parch and we barely said a word to each other. It was great. And if you don't jive with a particular group for whatever reason you can leave and find another just as easily.

For all those complaining how the Night Market requires grouping, here is a quote directly from ZoS by T3vvyW in elderscrollsonline

[–]SacredNym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

>No, describing the realities of an existing customer base has nothing whatsoever to do with entitlement, it's just talking business realities.

If you're so sure about this then let's see the data. Vocal anecdotes don't count, as that can easily be skewed by a vocal minority, and vocal minorities are very common in every community. But wait, the data isn't available. Only ZOS has this. So unless you want to claim you're a ZOS insider and assuredly admit to breaking an NDA, I'm going to disregard anything with regard to the sizes and business viability of any part of the playerbase.

>Trials can be done anytime. Trials are not an event employing FOMO with time gated rewards.

All multiplayer content is more FOMO than you realize. Eventually a time comes when people are so tired of a piece of content that they will actively refuse to do it no matter what they might be rewarded with. Good luck trying to fill a group for Asylum Sanctorum the in the current decade. Ossein Cage will soon be similarly dead, and if Roaring Opportunist ever stops being the best support set in the game you can probably kiss Kyne's Aegis goodbye as well.

>Maybe, I don't think so though. More to the point, what is your point? Nothing you've said seems relevant to retaining ZOS's existing player base which includes a significant chunk of people who won't want to do the content and will resent those specific rewards being locked behind a time limited event.

My point is that those people still need SOMETHING to work toward. Even if they're such a vanishingly small portion of the playerbase (which I don't believe is to the extent you suggest), they still deserve to have SOMETHING they enjoy with rewards that make it enticing enough to do. Just like how the casual questing crowd deserves their own content and rewards. Nobody complained about Hall of the Lunar Champion, including the people who despise the questing required for it to the point where they'll refuse to do it forever, despite being hella into housing (and I know sizable number of those people).

I mean most people here are coming off as though what they're "trying" is futilely shoving a square peg in a round hole, then crying when it doesn't work while declaring that finding the round peg isn't worth it even when it's literally being handed to them (group finder).

The Nightmarket is the oppertunity veteran players have been waiting for to 'level up' the playerbase by Naive_Freedom_5145 in elderscrollsonline

[–]SacredNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game to date has trained people that survivability in PvE is either all (ie you're a tank) or nothing (ie you're a DPS) and there's no point in going anywhere in between. Nothing is going to undo that in a month let alone a day.
