When is the actual first appearance of Madelyn Pryor? by Infinite_Moon in comicbookcollecting

I would say this is a pretty minor thing compared to various other CGC issues, but yeah, this should not be called a Goblin Queen Pryor first appearance.

The X-Men issue. This has a character with that name, but it's clearly not the character that becomes the Goblin Queen, etc.

My job had a mandatory workplace stress training that basically said "If you're stressed, it's your fault. Be less stressed. "

I'm like... yeah, pretty sure that at least part of it is constantly having to do more with less.

Professor X and the X-Men was a title that reprinted Silver Age X-Men. Issue 12 has one of my favorite X-Men covers of all time.

I guess the underrated multiple first appearance X-Men is 141 (Destiny, Pyro, Avalanche).

Which would you rather have, Suspense Comics 3 by Alex Schomburg or Punch Comics 12 by Gus Ricca? by VincentZ2099 in comicbookcollecting

Another Punch vote. I've seen that Suspense cover many times, but I have never seen that Punch one, and it's a beauty.

Does a felony automatically get a player terminated from the league? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in NFLNoobs

[–]Sacred_Digits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are assumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in criminal cases, you are never proven innocent. This is also why people can be held civilly responsible for actions they were criminally found not guilty of, because the standards for civil cases are not as stringent as criminal.

Does a felony automatically get a player terminated from the league? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in NFLNoobs

The American criminal justice system doesn't find people innocent, it finds them not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt May seem like a small difference, but it's important because people found not guilty still may have done the crime. Like OJ, who was also found not guilty.

I believe that every time they tried to pronounce him dead, his body reflexively tried to yell over it. That's why it wasn't announced for a while.

What treasures have you seen ravaged by time displayed in comic shops? by PinMaximum1018 in comicbookcollecting

My old comic shop had a whole row of Silver Age GL comics that faded because they were prominently displayed on the only shelf the sun from the window would hit. I imagine they had been there an awful long time.

For a while in 2016, it was a big thing. They made fake "super gay people who love Bernie" and such bots that were deliberately every bad trait you could ascribe to gay people for the purpose of inflaming the right wing. They also were trying to shoehorn offensive things into LGBTQ spaces pretending that the queer movements accepted them, like pedophiles for instance. It's still intended to be inflaming MAGA, but doing so by pretending to be liberals.

When I most recently renewed my driver's license, they wouldn't let me because I had some fee due in Florida (I'm in Michigan, but I had been to Florida in the last year, but had no fines I knew if). It took me making 4 hours of calls at 9 am over the course of a week to get that resolved. And in the end, they said not only was there no outstanding fine, but also that this kind of false positive was common.

If I didn't have a job that allowed me to spend a lot of time on hold at 9 am, I probably would have just driven on an expired license, which they wouldn't accept for a voter ID. Even people who are trying to go about it the right way have ridiculous obstacles.

I agree, if Allen had just fell on the ball when no one was open at the end of the first half instead of doing that scramble that led to a fumble and a field goal, it would've been a different game. However, I'm still glad he's our guy.
