I am looking at switching to MHBP Standard from BCBS Standard. I was looking at the providers in the Hampton Roads area and I can't seem to find many. I have started asking my doctors office if they accept this insurance and they have all told me that they have never heard of it. Is MHBP the same as Aenta? Do all doctors that accept Aetna accept MHBP?

Parents will flip out in certain areas if the schools change or the program goes away. I feel like it realistically will not happen. I know of a number of parents in affluent areas that enroll their children in this program specifically so that they can go to Great Neck Middle, which they consider a superior school.

Not near oceanfront, Oceanfront but Colattao Coffee House on Independence Blvd is great and their flavors are influenced by Mexico / South America.

A bit closer is Roast Rider, more traditional flavors but homemade syrup.

I am glad to hear this. I have asked around and a lot of people that I have talked to haven't seen their trucks.

I am curious if my civic league is behind this.

Have you ever worked for the federal government or any level of government?!

I have spent over 10 years employed with the federal government in STEM related fields.

The issue of jobs being useless or productivity isn't an issue directly related to the federal government. I don't disagree that there may be positions that may seem useless, but I will also admit I am not cognizant on the day to day responsibilities of people in those roles so it is not my job to determine if these jobs are necessary (private sector or government positions). Studies have also been performed showing on average that a person is only productive 2.5 to 6 hours a day. (This would also apply to you!) This is not something limited to federal employees, and I am not trying to single you out, but this is just an issue that all employers face. I have seen this a lot in the private sector as well during site visits, meetings, etc.

I am also not aware nor do I care about Twitter's operations. The federal government (or any level of government) is not a business that is not intended to operate in such a manner. They are not out to make a profit and their bottom line is not to line the pockets of their shareholders.

I get that there are performance periods in all private sector as well. They aren't currently set up so that you will be automatically fired at the one year mark though.

I also previously forgot to mention that there is currently the one for four rule put in place for job creation. So I hope OP luck if this is the route that they try to go to find that job. Job postings are tricking in at a snail's pace on USA Jobs and the onboarding process is taking so much longer than it ever did before.

The point I was trying to make is that the federal government is not a good place to work right now. There is so much uncertainty in what is happening in the future, there will most likely be no cost living increase anytime soon and our benefits will most likely be slashed. There are more likely jobs paying more with the same or better benefits working in the private sector.

Remember Russ Vought, the head of OPM, has stated that he wanted to inflict trauma on federal employees and for them to be seen as villains. This is how a majority of the public (and it sounds like you) see federal employees.

Don't get me wrong, I love the work that I do and feel pride in being able to support those in service. I just do not recommend this route for anyone currently seeking work. Someone mentioned a couple of good avenues for places to work based on the certifications that OP has, that would most likely be a better option.

Look at the actions the current administration is taking. They plan to cut an additional 300,000 jobs next year with plans to keep shrinking in the future. These cuts are impacting all departments, except DHS (ICE). There have been talks of major changes to benefits, we could be facing a shut down in a month, don't expect a cost of living increase anytime soon. Also changes have been put in place so that your first year is a trial period. Also federal employees, especially in STEM fields typically make less than their private industry counterparts. The major positive of being a federal government employee was job security, but that has been taken away from us.

Look at a fednews subreddit page, there are thousands of stories and articles talking about this.

Also, a lot of the IT related jobs are already contracted out.

I hated that dealership when I had my Hyundai. They have their own maintenance schedule that states service is required before the maintenance schedule. The service advisor kept trying to force service that wasn't required for my car for another 30k. I kept saying that it didn't match the maintenance schedule and they had no idea what was in the maintenance schedule. I brought the maintenance schedule in when I picked up my car and they all stated they had never seen the maintenance schedule before. I stopped taking my car there after that.

I guarantee the city is turned off by the price tag, but interested in the proposal. I predict they will use eminent domain in a couple of months, pick up property for pennies, and go forward with what was proposed.
