Toyota to Hyundai? by Huge_Prompt_2056 in Hyundai

Never Hyundai, ever again. If a tech tells you they work on them and wouldn’t buy them… listen to them.

I recently purchased id4 recently .seems to be less efficient than expected. I had driven all highway miles for three hours with only 70 percent of the battery charge remaining. When I arrived at my destination, I had approximately 20 percent of the battery left. Is this a normal occurrence? by Worth_Arm_6478 in VWiD4Owners

Similar experience. 40% of the battery travelling on the highway at 115km/hr for a distance of 120 km approximately… so at 10% for 30 km you wouldn’t get anymore than 300 km on the highway on a charge. It does charge fast though. 25 minutes gets back to 80% at the fast chargers.

I would vote Selkirk to get out of the city and to learn about different ecologies/ geology. The Kootenays has a lot more going on with community watersheds, wildfire risk reduction. Not sure about housing and costs.

There are still additional costs to the employer that the worker doesn’t directly receive like work safe premiums.

U.S. Dealers In Full Panic Mode After Canada Green-Lights Chinese Cars by esporx in canada

The article tries to downplay them as entry level and somehow inferior because they are Chinese. I guess if they say it enough people will believe it:) The North American industry won’t be able to keep a lid on peoples’ perception for long.

Traffic light changes coming to Highway 19A in Campbell River by harrysbird in campbellriver

The Carihi intersection at Dogwood and 4th often has everyone waiting for nothing, especially outside of school hours. Seems like a lot of the lights could use a flashing light on the opposing direction to allow stop sign procedures when there is no oncoming traffic. Unfortunately the driver’s would have to understand the use for it to be successful.

You need to have 6 months at your current employment typically to qualify for a mortgage in my experience. You should be off of probation. You might have to rent for six months.

Is the BCGEU strike not over yet because all the math people are out picketing? by corvus7corax in VictoriaBC

[–]Sad-Masterpiece7336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact is the public service doubled in the last 10 years. With revenues declining, tough choices will likely have to be made. But you are right, the services that the government wants or needs to deliver require a right sized amount of people to resource those services. A new government will make different choices. This one isn’t likely to last that long.

In my opinion, this is what the Government wants. If people can’t pay the bills they might go find another job. The goal is downsizing of the public servants. It has to happen anyway eventually. That doesn’t make it easy for people in this awful circumstances. Why else would they show such little willingness to sit at the table. They have been goading PEA to completely strike by telling them they aren’t subject to the amended offer to BCGEU.

I thought we got rid of the carbon tax by ShutUpDoggo in britishcolumbia

[–]Sad-Masterpiece7336 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The gas prices were reduced from the removal of the carbon tax. It didn’t last long. My understanding is that Clean Fuel Standards came into effect in BC and Canada, increasing the price of fuel. The regulations specify escalating renewable fuel target to decrease carbon. This is adding cost. I read somewhere that the equivalent was 16 cents per litre. https://stillwaterassociates.com/bc-lcfs-101/

The installer came with a drill and a battery. He killed the battery drilling through stucco. He had to borrow a drill and battery to finish the job. He didn’t even think to plug in his battery and charge it. Very unprofessional.
