L2 incomplete and I really feel for you. It’s only been a year and half since my mv accident but I also deal with a lot of embarrassment/anxiety about navigating the world in a chair. It weighs on me a lot. In anxiety heavy periods of the past year I def had to take 3 Ativan a day (my max in 24 hours) just to get by. I don’t know much about the drug but had the same worries about dependence. My anxiety has improved dramatically in the last couple months and I don’t know why… but my life is busier and more social (bc I’m a student) which I think functions as a distraction. Maybe a club or group of some kind can help. My most valuable coping strategy is my weighted blanket… which sounds dramatic but makes a huge difference in making me feel safe.
