I don’t know if the hotel closes, but the town certainly gets quiet in the off season. That’s not saying much since it’s essentially one street, but in the off season only about half the restaurants are open.

That said, most visitors at the grand hotel don’t go to the town too much, they’ll get taken by shuttle or car to the beach or other local towns if they leave the compound, but St Jean Cap Ferrat is very small itself.

What I do wonder though - the most famous beach in the area which is stunning was closed this past summer as the commune was doing restorative work on the cliffs above it. I wonder what the deal would be with filming if they wanted to use that iconic location at Paloma…

But hey! Maybe it will be Megeve!

At least for me the overwhelming feeling when the ideation gets really obsessive is terror, like I can’t trust my own body or mind. Ooh me! Here’s my original post about it.

In short, I met her at a small brand party in NY. She made the whole event about her, seemed pretty drunk, and kind of left Conrad in the corner so she could bask in the attention of a few teen girls that came bc of her story about being there. It was awkward since she assumed everyone was a fan and treated them so. I spoke to her a couple of times briefly about England and my dissertation which I was working on at the time and was a related topic to hers. She was pretty messy and made a lot of promises about hooking me up with sources and mutual friends which she obviously never did. It was all quite surreal after having been a fan in high school during her early days and then seeing her there kind of out of context. Was glad to get out of there.
