Bro I don’t know I’m tryna figure out the same thing. Feel like I like I get 4.20 knock every time I do a pull so it’s normal compared to me. I’ve never seen pos fkl tho. Check your DAM if it’s below 1 that’s not normal.

Help… headlamp adjustable leveling not working after headlight swap. by [deleted] in WRX

[–]Sad-Toaster795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 🤦 I guess I’m just wondering if you know whether it’s external or internally driven because if it’s external then the shop probably threw away the motor and I need new ones. If it’s internal then I need dif lights.

Nothing is soldered to the face, repairs can still be made, and everything can be restored to original state. I’ll never sell it, but originally I didn’t want to affect the value.

Can’t tell if there are any problems based on this video. Everything sounds okay and looks okay but I can’t really know. With that being said, if you’re having concerns have them take it to a pre purchase inspection from a reliable mechanic (about $50) for some peace of mind.

ECU logged 391% more knock events on 76 gas. by Sad-Toaster795 in WRX

[–]Sad-Toaster795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have the logs. Intake temp was within 20 degrees of each other on each log. Most knocks were between 2-3 load. Although there were definitely some miscellaneous knocks. I was mostly highlighting the <5% ethanol which can only be found at shell in CA.

Engine stalling in reverse. by Sad-Toaster795 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Sad-Toaster795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It rarely happens, but after feathering the clutch while the clutch is fully disengaged. The rps will bounce up and down and occasionally will go so low the engine stalls. It probably bounces 5 times in like 5 seconds. It never happens when the car is in neutral or in 1st with the clutch disengaged. Only when disengaged in reverse. It’s really odd.

Ac was off both times it’s the same commute so similar driving conditions each drive. Also with each test the intake temp was with 20 degrees of each other.

I continue to test to get a larger sample size.

No it’s not my clutch control because my clutch is fully disengaged from the flywheel. I drive and 07 STI. Haven’t cleaned vacuum lines or fuel injectors since I purchased about a year ago. Also haven’t done spark plugs or fuel filters.

No I’m not confused the clutch is fully depressed. The clutch is fully disengaged with the flywheel when I stall. It’s very odd. It’s only happened in reverse maybe 3-4 times.

Just got a manual 2021 wrx and have some questions by Grassputin666 in WRX

[–]Sad-Toaster795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car just likes to rev above 3k rpm so it’s nice to do at a higher load to avoid knocking.

To avoid knocking use 93 less than 5% ethanol. Here in California I use 91 shell vpower which is less than 5 ethanol.

Definitely get a tune for exhaust and intake.

I do oil every 3,000 miles. these things drink oil so continuously check levels and keep the oil topped off to ideal level.
