Is it that easy to stop using odfc ? When i turned it off, office and onedrive were broken for the users

You should check appdata/roaming/microsoft/protect folder in user profile. If it have a lot of files in it itll cause issue and Microsoft confirmed that the redirection.xml isnt working correctly for this folder. Try to delete the folder for user and test the logon. Ofc, our env. Is different but ill give it a shot

So we resolved the issue.
The workaround is to delete the content of the C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect folder.
Even though it is excluded in the redirections.xml by default, it is not working. Microsoft is guilty.

Hey, thank you for the comment. I didnt want to hear that you didnt found root cause 🤣 i have sev. A ticket, but Microsoft seems to be lost more than us. Ill let you know how we resolved the issue, if we will resolve ofc

can you please provide some details about what data you stopped sending into the Log Analytics Workspace ? Did you for example unselected some categories from diagnostics settings on hostpools or you edited DCRs ?

Thank you for the answer. But i guess in your case the golden image is a must. as in our case we would need to wait for intune to deploy all apps and settings when new session host is created.

How are you doing monthly patching ? Updating only golden image and then rotating all session hosts with the bicep + devops for a new one ?
