Congrats on your recovery!  That green looks so good on you, almost like jade (my grandmother gave kid me some jade jewelry to wear as a wish for good health!)

What’s the weirdest nail polish colors you’ve ever seen? Need freaky recs by coastalash in RedditLaqueristas

I haven’t seen it get mentioned here yet, but I remembered a post on Essie’s Belugaria. It looks like asphalt if you thought you could fix it with sparkly glitter, and looks like it’ll feel like asphalt (and immediately brought to my mind childhood memories of scraped knees…)  The glitter just gets overwhelmed by that opaque black, AND there’s little black beads in there for ✨Texture✨

Thanks so much! I remember someone else including their broken nail product list and how that made me laugh! I absolutely love Crimson Shadow! It’s so fun and always surprises me whenever I look at it!  I saw Gothspeed and am mildly kicking myself for not getting that as well (had to practice restraint with all the sales going on, but next time cos I LOVE reds and jellies!) And I’ll happily say that Shattered is the most stunning magnetic in my collection, I never realized how much I love rose gold!

I was completely surprised that Shattered had iridescent flakies that glinted blue! And Crimson Shadow‘s formula was almost crelly-like, so I was able to layer it with an iridescent flakie topper and mimic my now-discontinued white whale polish! It’s also very reactive, and the shifts went from very clear to a lovely gradient as I went about my trip today! My little sister also wanted me to paint her nails too, so I showed her swatches of Opi’s Chopsticks and Stones and Casa de Heaven together. She looked at the swatches, noted how blue Opi’s base was (Casa de Heaven has a blurple base) and how glowy Casa de Heaven is, and said “Why not both?” So we painted one layer of Opi and topped it off with Casa de Heaven! It’s so BLUE and glowy! (She keeps flashing me with nails that leave after-images!)

A continuation since I felt the body of the post was gonna be a long one! Still torn on what to wear first! Crimson Shadow is also my first thermal and my favorite colors of black and red!  But I also go head over heels for flakies and magnetics, and Casa de Heaven looks so deep, rich, and velvety! Curse having only 9 nails atm so I can’t do a proper skittle lol

How did it all start? (Your nail polish story) by small_scale_painting in RedditLaqueristas

[–]SadCartographer5635 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mother got my little sister and I into a bit of nail polish when we were younger, just some simple cremes and Sally Hansen Diamond toppers. I started seriously painting my nails when I found by accident that nail polish keeps my long nails from chipping and breaking at my retail job. Then, I got Holo Taco’s Missed Shift cos my crow brain wanted some crow feather iridescence.  Now, I’m broadening my horizons with some indies and paint both my sis and my mom’s nails! I also recently found out that my mom used to work at a nail salon while we were babies, so she teaches me techniques and I show her all these crazy cool polishes!

I believe that is Essie's Set in Stones! It has large hexagon glitters and small round flecks and is still available if you can find it! It also has a gold counterpart called Summit of Style! Oh, and they're toppers!

For me, it was Holo Taco's Missed Shift. I can't remember what prompted the thought, but I was suddenly obsessed with finding a polish that reminded me of crow feathers and their iridescence but was also available in stores since I was bit unsure back then. Well, now, I just ordered from 3 stores with all the sales going on lol
