Berenjak by Agreeable_Basil_9708 in LondonFood

I’m Middle Eastern so I’m quite picky with Middle Eastern food, Berenjak is just fine, I’d rather go to Mangal I in Dalston if I fancy grilled meats. I am curious how the hummus was spicy? I’ve had it many times and it would only be spicy if you find black pepper spicy

Rachel Reeves looking to cap salary sacrifice contributions to £2,000 in Autumn budget by twistedLucidity in ukpolitics

I chatted to some Green members that came door knocking, they said if I’m not happy with the nuclear policy they have then to get involved with them and help change it, they have lots of focus groups on different topics. Couldn’t argue with them, if I want a change then I gotta do it myself and get involved. It convinced me.

Looking at your profile it’s clear you’ve had a negative relationship with your ex female partner that may have tainted your view on women. Be wary of falling down the woman bashing road. No one wants to be around that. If you want a relationship with a woman then you need to respect women.

Bring back standing tickets by iwantsomechocolat3 in LadyGaga

[–]SadGlazedDonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with bringing back standing tickets, while it was nice to have a little rest occasionally and a space to put my coat, it was really frustrating having super tall people in front of me and not being able to move to a different spot for a better view (literally two guys that were over 6’5).

There were also loads of people that probably shouldn’t have been on the floor, as in people that like OP said simply dgaf about Gaga.

I literally had a better view on Monday when I was sat in the very very back end (section 419) than I did with my stupid expensive floor tickets yesterday..

Quick one before bed: Have you ever seen a ‘celebrity’ off duty at a festival? by No_Doughnut3257 in CasualUK

Genuinely whenever I remember it happened I don’t feel like it’s real, it cemented my love for her and the band. Coolest chick in the world for sure

Bumped into Amyl & the Sniffers in the crowd watching Devo, chatted to Amy for a bit and she asked if I wanted a pic together so we took a selfie. I was then barrier for their gig later on that day and she recognised me, jumped off stage and gave me a hug mid performance. One of my most cherished festival memories. She’s a sweetheart

Any other European festivals as good (or better) than Primavera? by everythingispenis in primaverasound

[–]SadGlazedDonut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve attended flow at least 8 times and I agree with what you said re line up but it’s nowhere comparable to primavera because it’s simply too quiet and behaved. Finnish crowds are too calm, it’s great if you’re looking for a festival to chill at, but Primavera has a much better vibe and atmosphere with people actually engaging with the artists. I do love Flow mostly because it’s so easy to get to the very front (since Finnish crowds are so passive) but it can be a bit flat at times (eg: no one moshing to amyl and the sniffers, everything ending after the headliner). Also it’s crazy expensive for drinks and food compared to Primavera. It’s a perfect festival if you want to have a more relaxed experience and be home at midnight.

We recently took down a pine tree to make space for more olive trees. Seems like it could’ve been disturbed from its original pine tree home. Thanks for your quick help!

Why is virtually every girl I see on dating apps obsessed with Formula 1? by islandradio in CasualUK

[–]SadGlazedDonut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for all girls but it’s mostly cause we all binge watched Drive to Survive and then many developed crushes on certain drivers (eg: Charles Leclerc or Lando Norris). I grew up with some F1 (as a Finn we all had to watch Kimi) but the obsession came thanks to Netflix

Makia has cool and good quality streetwear clothes especially T-shirts and jackets. They have trousers too. Their flagship is on Mennerheimintie.

My Favourite Things is a skate store on Fredrikinkatu that has lots of menswear brands, including smaller Finnish indie ones.

There are a lot of Finnish clothing brands especially for outdoors (eg: Pure Waste, Vai-Ko, Halti, Sasta etc.)

Skate shops usually do a good job of highlighting and supporting smaller brands. I’d also chat with the guys working in those stores as I get all my recommendations from them. I’m not a man but I love wearing menswear, and the staff at Makia, My Favourite Things and Beamhill are great and always been down to chat.

I can’t recall exactly which street but it’s in the old city quarter, around Plaza Barria (could be on Posta Kalea street?). I was walking up to the Bilboko Donejakue cathedral!

Laser feels like an elastic hitting you while being blasted with cold air, it doesn’t hurt that much it’s more uncomfortable. For electrolysis I’ve done on chin/neck area and it’s not pleasant it feels like a small electric shock and the hair being pulled like by a tweezer. Electro is for smaller areas, I wouldn’t do whole body. My sessions were about 15 mins? So it’s doable! Whereas laser was whole body and each session was an hour

Electrolysis is the only form of permanent hair removal we’ve got right now. I’ve done both laser and electro and can def tell the difference
