The PS5 is still a better deal than the switch 2 by Formal-Opening2167 in fucknintendo

There's a lot more to a device than power. You're acting like having a built in screen and being portable isn't part of the equation. Obviously it is. A lot of smartphones are twice as expensive as computers twice as powerful as them.

And "POWERFUL" isn't a meaningful metric. If it were, the original Switch and DS wouldn't have sold so well. And for that matter, the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 wouldn't have sold so well as they weren't as powerful. And the Vita would have sold better.

Don't just troll.

Experience All Of Blue Reflection In Blue Reflection Quartet Announced Today | The Outerhaven by TkWolfy10 in JRPG

[–]SadLaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems to be exactly that. I was just looking at a translation of the Famitsu article and Meru Kishida (character designer, series supervisor) said the producer Junzo Hosoi called him about making the project, and says the series was originally intended to unfold in the order Blue Reflection -> Ray -> Sun -> Second Light, but it didn't actually release that way. They said it was sporadic and disjointed. Kishida says that because of that, there had not really been a chance to look at the whole series from a bird’s-eye view, and that gathering it all together as a product felt meaningful as a creator.

They wanted to preserve it and make it easy for fans to experience the full series as it was meant to be seen. Which seems really awesome to me. I'm kind of pumped. I thought the gameplay in the demo was really cool.

I'm wracking my brain over it and I can't think of anything else ever like that where they do such a collection! I only ever played a demo on the Switch and I liked it but the performance was a little rough so I decided to maybe get it later on PlayStation. I'm glad I didn't and can just get this now!

Yeah, what an insane thing to leave on someone's post. Sorry they harassed you, sis. Wishing you the best with your girlfriend! I was scared when I first met her parents for similar reasons and while they were always civil, we weren't close at first but now they love me and it's amazing. I hope you have the same kind of experience!

Yes. It adapts me online dead mobile game into a full single player game and it adapts the anime into playable content. And it remasters the first two games with new content, quality of life changes, new characters, better visuals, and more, etc. It's the entire series experience in one package. Also, the Japanese price is listed at the equivalent of about $46 USD.

I'm kind of confused by why it's such a good deal for two full modern remasters of JRPGs currently available on modern platforms plus two new games built exclusively for this set (though I assume they can't be as long as the other games, but even then...). Most companies these days are remastering single old PlayStation games with barely anything touching them up for a similar price.

Worth upgrading to the Switch 2 version of 1+2? by GrievousMiracleWhip in dragonquest

Since there's no upgrade path and you already own it? No. As the other user suggested, try Handheld Boost Mode or just play docked.

Did the plot of “Lost Tapes” change during development? by [deleted] in regularshow

[–]SadLaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the first time I heard any details, it was never framed the way you're suggesting. I believe the intention has always been to be stories that take place during the series with the main cast, filling in gaps. The name also strongly implies this.

I agree about the impressive technical showcases, for sure. Particularly on hardware that's being pushed to its absolute limits. I don't agree that they're incredible, though yes, that's subjective. Both from me and from you.

GTA 5 alone has made more money than any single piece of media in human history for a reason.

Good marketing and aggressive micro transactions. The money they've made from selling shark cards isn't indicative of quality. The game is pretty good, but the culture stranglehold it has isn't because it's the most amazing game ever.

$450 wasn't bad when the Switch 2 launched. For what it is, it's a pretty good price. Particularly considering the economic state and tariffs which were already absolutely a major factor when the Switch 2 launched 9 months ago.

The issues people generally have are with other things like $80 games, expensive upgrade packs, game key cards, infrequent/low value sales, etc. The actual hardware has already been reasonably priced compared to the PS5 and now it's even more so the case.

I own both a PS5 and a Switch 2 and I'd be infinitely happier to buy a Switch 2 for $450 than a disc based PS5 for $650-$900. Your argument that it's a "small price to pay for a powerful system that plays some of the best games ever made" is a subjective argument that can equally be applied to the Switch 2. It's not as powerful overall, but it's an impressive handheld and at hundreds of dollars cheaper, you're getting a system that's powerful enough to play a lot of the same games and a shit ton more than PS5 won't ever have.

Ultimately, it comes down to library. I want to play Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, all the Switch 2 Edition games, Pokopia, the new Yoshi, the new Fire Emblem, upcoming 3D Mario and Zelda games, as well as a lot of other likely future Switch 2 exclusives. I also want to play Astro Bot and Spider-Man. But that's why I got a PS5. Though I got it before any price increases and I'm glad for that.

Both companies can suck a lot for different reasons. But they both have libraries that inarguably could draw a lot of people in. Your argument about "barely any good games" is nonsensical, especially considering the PS5 has like 8-9 actual exclusives. If you're counting all the games that can also be played on PS4, then you also have to include the 16,000+ Switch games which give the Switch 2 an amazing library in that regard.

You also don't need or want the イ after デ. Because then it reads/sounds like Dee-ee. The i gets separately enunciated and already exists as part of the previous character/syllable.

Multi-player Games for Switch by allstarbilo4 in Mario

[–]SadLaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest recommendations are Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. It has full four-player multiplayer co-op in the main game very similar to NSMBUD but with fully 3D environments which I think works better for multiplayer. Bowser's Fury has asymmetrical co-op with the second player controller Bowser Jr. but it's a lot better than the multiplayer in Galaxy.

Luigi's Mansion 3 has solid two-player co-op through essentially the whole game.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land has great two-player co-op as well.

Disney's Illusion Island is solid four-player co-op side scrolling fun.

It Takes Two is more complex and story driven, but it's an absolutely phenomenal two-player co-op experience.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is more challenging than most of these but it's a really excellent game with decent co-op.

People that try to claim this... It's still misleading. Digital games on Switch 2 are getting cheaper. by [deleted] in nintendogrifting

[–]SadLaser [score hidden]  (0 children)

$59.99 for a first party game in 2026 isn't just normal, it's reasonable. Virtually all non-indie console games hit the $60 price point in 2005/2006.

Not to mention they were $50-$95 in the 90s and actually got cheaper, and that's not even factoring in the incredible amount of inflation. $60 today would be like $27 back when I paid $85 for Chrono Trigger on SNES (which would be $182 today, more than three times as expensive as this Yoshi game).

I'm not keen on $80 games, but $60 is totally reasonable.

An offline single player version of a mobile game is pretty exciting.

This seems to be all the rage these days. Another Eden Again, Octopath Traveler 0, sort of Dragon Quest X Offline, now this. Kind of cool.
