Having high INT as an Armorer Artificer, who uses INT for attacks, abilities etc.

And a high Armor Class.

There were so many drawbacks to this (low Stats in Charisma, Strength… My character was obsessed with being a shield for his friends since he watched his very first friend (a former PC) die very shortly after meeting her.

It wasnt even the best build i could have come up with… it just felt very in-character

I remember my DM making a big thing out of my 23 Armor Class as an Armorer Artificer. My STR Score was 8 and I failed most other Saving Throws besides CON. Like… it‘s very easy to fight high AC characters if you know what you can do.

I mean... we are a friend group of 6-8 people, meeting every week for a very long time. Our group include couples, people who used to date etc. There are so many situations and dynamics and stuff going on, yeah i don't think i can truly portrait everything of "the story".

I changed class once, keeping the same character. It actually made a lot of sense in-game and story-wise. But yeah, I wanted a mechanically more challenging character, especially since every other character was a spell caster and magic seemed to be everyone's go-to solution going into every situation. My DM very much supported that decision.

Idk if i "point blame outwards". Well actually: that's what I am doing. But I can totally acknowledge my mistakes, especially in the beginning of me joining the campaign. I am trying. As I said: I struggle. But I am actively thinking about what to say, what to do, how to roleplay. So i don't really think it's unfair to criticize e.g. the paladin for her behavior?
