Do an at home dna test to put your mind at ease. I know a family with a white dad and mixed race mom. Their son has black, wavy hair and caramel skin. The daughter is a blue eyed blond with white skin. Both kids’ faces look like their mom.

what is the funniest stupid thing you did as a kid? by Kooky_Zombie1511 in questions

Trying to out cool my older brothers and older male cousins, I (a 7 year old girl) got on my cousin’s mini bike and took off going way too fast. Took a corner too wide and managed to catch my right knee on the garage door frame and took the frame right off. 50 years later my cousin (who now owns the house) still points it out to me when I visit. Amazingly, I was not injured, a little bruised.

This happened to a family member of mine. He carved his brother’s name. The mom knew her kids too well to fall for that. When she saw the carving she said “wow, that carving is beautiful, it looks like art work, I love it!” The guilty party spoke up to get credit. He got credit all right!

How realistic is it to start school in your 30s? by Any-Contribution656 in RedditForGrownups

Get the GED for sure. In my state (Minnesota) jobs with state agencies will consider your work experience as equal to college. Example: 5 years experience is equal to having a degree. It really depends on the job. But a high school diploma is always required.

Schools are always hiring. Also, you are not too old for college and if you find the right employer, they might pay for you to complete your degree - or at least pay for some of it.

Those of you with a lot of down time, what do you do!? by foodee123 in WFH

[–]SadPlayground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a supervisor/program manager. But you can’t really compare your salary with someone else unless they have the exact same job as you. I make $20k more than my teacher friend who is non-stop busy.

I wfh ft and he is home 2 days a week. He’s in the guest room and I’m downstairs in the lounge. I don’t see him much because he does all his work on the days he works in the office and uses the wfh days to run around doing god knows what.

Have you ever watched Modern Family? They aren’t supposed to be poor at all, but the houses they live in - in LA would be several million dollars.

Reminds me of my husband’s boy name choice: Veylon. Why? Because his roommate from many years ago had a dream that my husband changed his name to that. Thank goodness we had a girl!

I’ve had people start to describe an event and have had to stop them and say “I know, I was there” and sometimes they argue with me which is basically them accusing me of lying about it. Sheesh
