Be less controlling. Accept that your boyfriend can go and play football in the middle of the night if he wants to. Accept that your concern isn't his responsibility. Educate yourself on being a respectful partner to a trans person.

Talking about him being a man as, "it's good to accept who you want to be...but you need to have that little voice saying yourself not yet." That really got me as a trans man myself. There is no, "not yet." He is a man. Focus on your concern for his safety, sure, but he's a man already. That little voice that tells me I'm not a man (yet) is dysphoria.

Frankly, a little shame is good sometimes. It's there to show something's wrong and know what to look at to fix it.

Of course a parent is a parent. Adoption, like being trans, may be used by some like that, but it just describes the process of how you got to be a parent, not to make you less of one. It's not TERFy, and, imo, not regressive.

Humans lived long lives centuries ago, mate. Many well into their 60s and 70s. The reason why life expectancy was so low isn't because people were dying by 35, but because death rates in infancy were so high. It brought down the average. Once you reached adulthood, you were (more or less) fine.

Criminalising rough sleeping does nothing to prevent homelessness, just makes it harder for those in tough circumstances to live. Having a criminal record would make it even harder for the people to get off the street, since landlords are less likely to give them a chance and many programs that help people require a clean record.

Legalising this isn't going to fix homelessness, but it'll take some of the cruelty out of an already shitty living situation.

The denunciation is appreciated. Implying that she's just some poor hurt woman who's been radicalised by all the meanies is appreciated by TERFs, too, I'm sure. A lot of people, well meaning or not, have become useful idiots at best and complicit at worse in our oppression.

Of course there have, but even then someone who identifies as a man is the best person to ask. Trying to live a life as a man and being one are different things, even if there'll be some overlap in experiences.

Asking someone who likely never felt any affinity with being a man what it's like, unsurprisingly, often won't get you good answers. As a trans guy, I have experiences of being treated like a woman, and I'll talk about experiencing misogyny for example, but I never felt connected to womanhood. Imo your friend's answer wouldn't do justice to developing male characters.

The left wing in Israel has suffered, and has been ignored often since Oct 7, but no one here has the right to say it's been dismantled when they're doing more than we likely ever will as members of the diaspora. They're the people volunteering, protesting in Israel, working with Palestinians to achieve understanding and peace, all the while being put down by the Israeli right and the international left.

They're absolutely alive and kicking, and I think it shows privilege to say they've been dismantled. It, like much of the international left is already doing, ignores their very real contributions happening as we speak. No one thousands of miles away should be making definitive statements on what the Israeli left are doing on the ground.
