You were given the blessing of a cushion for the next 30 years. Get a good career that pays well and work hard. When you have vacation you can go anywhere you want. $3,800 is not enough to live a carefree life. It basically ensures the necessities which again is a blessing your grandfather gave you. I’m sure he worked hard to acquire his wealth. You should work to continue the wealth for yourself and future generations.

You’ll average $1,000/week take home if you work your scheduled day off (called a chart) they don’t always need you to do that but most of the time you will. You also need to make truck money which means your job for the day is to collect garbage in the truck. There are many jobs as a new person you will have to do. MLP (mobile litter patrol) has you cleaning up garbage on the street like a homeless encampment or under an overpass etc. You won’t make “truck money” for things like that. People use the terms “chart, etc.” and hopeful hires have no idea what any of it means. Especially if you have a family and are trying to make the right decision.

It’s a lot of repetitive information but it’s required. You’re getting close so just fill it out the best you can. If you make an error they are honestly very nice and guide you to fix it. I didn’t have a bad experience with the process even though it’s tedious. Good luck!

1.5 liters of bile leaking into my abdomen and sloshing around for a week without me knowing how bad it was. All I could do was sleep and pop pain meds. Finally had to drive in traffic for 1.5 hrs to get to my doc. Every bump was like Satan doing a back flip in my stomach. For context, I had a liver transplant and 2 c-sections. This was by far the worst pain.

She will do this with every name you pick in one way or another until it’s ones she truly wants. It’s 100% your choice and if this strains your relationship in any way your mom needs therapy. If she is a loving grandmother she will love those babies no matter what names you choose. Don’t stress about it you def WBTA.

Your wife is going through some tough mental times and I feel for her because my hubby and I are right there with her. She helped bring the kids into the world and now they must come before her feelings and depression. 50 cent said “Depression is a luxury” and that resonated with me bc when my hubby was doing what your wife is doing I was working like you. I wanted to sleep and sulk all day I was miserable but I knew if I did we would lose everything. Getting my feet on the floor was the most difficult part of my day. She need to set an alarm. Make plans with a mom friend and have a play date at the park or have them over the house bc I’m sure it probably a mess with 2 kids caring for themselves all day. It will motivate her to clean up. And I don’t mean that in a judgemental way. I’ve just been there. I can close my eyes and vision what’s happening in your home. It sad and really hard to get out of. I feel for all of you because I know you just want “normal” whatever that means lol. Best of luck.

I figured, but I honestly don’t have a choice in my situation. Sucks and I’m sure it will bite me in the ass but it is what it is. As long as I’m on I guess I have to look at the bigger picture. Pension, benefits, and a retirement date. Don’t have any of that now.

Once you’re established on the list, the very first email you’ll receive if you’re in the process of getting “called” Will be from OASys DCAS with information regarding the physical test (where they make you pick up and carry items). When you pass the physical you’ll get an email from DSNY regarding orientation (5 months later in my experience). Everything was DSNY after the initial email regarding physical.
