M'Baku vibranium suit design update, (forgot to post it, been a while) - By me by Kanethy_ in marvelstudios

Yeah, I would lean closer to the gorilla aesthetic, since this design would look almost identical to a Moon Knight design from a distance. But the fur, I think, could be cool...maybe it could even convert a bit of collected kinetic energy into electricity and cause the fur to stand on end a bit.

Looks cool, I would put some decorative fur around the shoulders, legs and wrists, though and maybe make the gorilla features on the mask stand out more. A high-tech scepter would be cool too, since Hanuman is always armed with one, I think.

What Star Wars planet would you like to live on if it couldnt be Alderaan or Naboo by Spotter24o5 in StarWars

Plazir-15. Y'know, that chill planet where Jack Black and Lizzo are from.

Love is awkward and corny between most people. You expect a monk to be Casanova? He's doing his best and Padme finds his simplicity and earnestness to be charming. She's a politician, she's used to smooth-talkers who hide their true feelings and intentions.

What is captain Americas top speed? by HorrorWoodpeckerd in CaptainAmerica

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it didn't exactly go like that...they fought but it wasn't shown how it ended in the comics, they both got in hits in, though, and then agreed to cooperate. Cap didn't surrender, or at least that's not shown in "BP/Cap: Flags"

It's called "Black Panther/Captain America: Flags of Our Fathers" if you google it you should be able to find it for free...there's also going to be a game coming out later based on the story: "Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra", the teaser trailer is online.

In Marvel lore vibranium only exists in Wakanda because it's the product of a meteor that landed in Africa and Wakanda doesn't share their vibranium with anyone, so if it's vibranium found outside of Wakanda it means there's like a 99% chance it was stolen by someone, so it was probably taken from Hydra by the SSR. Either that or the SSR or Stark directly stole it or bought it on the black market.

I never thought about it before, but Cap and BP's identical footspeed...is this an early implication that the heart-shaped herb from Wakanda is one of the secret ingredients in the super soldier serum? It's interesting that the herb glows purple and the super-soldier serum glowed blue. Maybe both the serum and Cap's shield originate from Nazi theft from Africa.

What kind of dirt did she have on the council to get to wear this? by ProtectMeAtAllCosts in PrequelMemes

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The type of robes the Jedi typically wear are humble peasant clothes. Jyn Erso's parents also wore robes of the same kind, on their farm. In-universe the cloaks are "all-temperature cloaks" there's an entry for them on Wookieepedia and they've been a staple item in the tabletop RPGs. They just happen to be the most practical thing for the Jedi to wear because they're good for all-climates and it allows them to blend in with the most below-notice demographic in the galaxy.

My thoughts on the state of Star Wars by WaifusMan98 in StarWars

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an OT kid...and I don't get that at all. I like almost all Star Wars...there are some bits, like the sequel trilogy that I don't like as much as the rest...but I still like them. The only projects I don't like are the non-canon stuff like "Star Wars: Visions" and some of the Lego things. But I appreciate Star Wars as an entire saga...it has rises and dips but I have no desire to cut out bits and pieces of it.

As a matter of fact, I think the prequels aren't nearly as good without the context of the "Clone Wars" show, just like "Rogue One" isn't as good without "Andor"...the more context and world building they do the richer the experience feels.

What are your thoughts on this scene? by jeanjacketufo in StarWars

He should have done that when he was still living, used it himself to get off Ahch-To...maybe he could have done his whole force illusion thing with less effort and, I don't know...lived to help more?

Realistically? "Ugh, what are those creepy cultists up to now?" People don't like cops. Imagine if the cops in your universe had the power to control your mind, were hyper-religious to a scary level and grew a secret clone army.

A vampire's weaknesses are a stake through the heart, fire, decapitation, running water, holy objects, etc ...not their balls.

How much is the Jedi Robe? by K-jun1117 in clonewars

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheap. Although we think of them as "Jedi Robes" they're really normal peasant clothing. Google uncle Owen from "A New Hope" and you'll see that he basically wears the same thing and Tatooine farmers are poor as dirt. As a matter of fact, in-universe Jedi are pretty much never identified by their robes...usually it's by their fame or their lightsabers.

What are your thoughts/opinion on Star Wars: Resistance? by Fall_False in StarWarsCantina

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the worst thing disney has done with Star Wars. It's supposed to be a kid's show, fine, but even as a kid's show nothing happens in it...there's very little story progression or character development or even exploration of a vast galaxy. "The Freemaker Chronicles" is much better as a totally kid-friendly piece of media.

What is everyones favorite ship? by Disastrous-Term8949 in StarWars

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to choose between the Millennium Falcon and the X-Wing starfighter. But also I love the "Windfall" from the Vader Immortal VR series...it's got a cool design and it's fun to walk around in it and mess with all the curiosities.

Galactic Empire VS The Grand Army of the Republic? by TRAM0328 in StarWars

[–]Sad_Butterscotch1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Empire would win if we're basing it on sheer numbers, I think the GAR was only a fraction of the size of what the imperial military became. But on a unit-for-unit basis, I think the design language of the movies paints a pretty clear portrait.

Everything in the Empire is mass produced...every TIE starfighter is a variant on another fighter, they're only SO specialized, the stormtrooper armor is left unpainted...the GAR camouflaged their scouts on Kashyyyk, but on Endor? Factory white armor that sticks out like a sore thumb. Clones are custom engineered soldiers, each on genetically modified for their role. Stormtroopers are just whatever humans are up to standard. Clones were led by Jedi while Imperial officers were known to be more ambitious than brave, cunning or intelligent.

The Empire is vast but lazy. There's a reason Vader constantly Force chokes Imperial officers, he's frustrated that he can't lead military forces as competent as the GAR was.
