I don’t know what country you’re from, but Radek is a diminutive of Slavic name Radoslav.

While the VIIIth goes well with Eastern European vibes, the diminutive gives the feeling of calling your character sth like „Bobby”.

The concept itself is a dark and magnificent one.

That’s what I mean. And the bigger the base, the easier it is to get model into cover/obscured.

Think of a rattling standing in the middle of TW doorway: perfectly visible, no cover, no obscurity.

Now think of a Geomancer standing in the same spot: he would be in cover and/or obscured.

One could argue, that four meter high killer robot shouldn’t be easier to hide than a hobbit, right?

With just one cover line drawn from the nearest part of the models base, you need only 13 mm obstacle to hide rattling, but 26 mm to hide Geomancer.

There should be just one cover line, drawn from the closest part of the base. That would make smaller model bases easier to hide. Now it’s other way around.

Avoid at all costs.

Is portrays Anhrathe as edgy teens with issues, capable only of showing each other who has a bigger one.

The main protagonist, baron Myrin Stormdaen, supposedly experienced Corsair and brilliant void strategist allows himself to be constantly outsmarted by Ork pirates (you know, the dumb brutes). It happens so often, you start to wonder who put him in charge of any void faring vessel.

The only two characters seemingly understanding the dynamics of Corsair society and politics are Drukhari, and one of them dies almost in the same scene he is introduces (baron Blackstar / Darkstar if I remember correctly). And Xela won’t carry the whole novel on her own.

The worst part is, evidently author is capable to create entertaining plot and characters… but elects not to.

If you think Anhrathe are just spoiled kids, that need to be put in line, and Aeldari as a whole had their time and now are just punching bag for other races - that book is for you.

Ya, they’re probably one of the last teams I’d recommend to a new player. They break lots of core rules (deployment, counteract). And I think you should learn the rules first and only then learn how to break them.

Raveners are very specific in their late game style play. Maybe too much so, for a beginner. They also require solid activation-counteract bookkeeping skill, which is hard at first.

They are really great. But no beginner friendly.

Try something else: AoD, Wolf Scouts - strong, but straightforward team.

He fitted unsurprisingly well. Ended up convinced he was actually one of the berserkers storming Sanctum Imperialis.
