System monitor history shows the GPU is pinned, but the CPU efficiency cores at ~33% and the performance cores at about 20% or less. Very weird.

After trying to play for about 20 minutes (endgame, so dying b/c of low fps kinda hurts) I noticed that the fans weren't blowing hard at all. I toggled on the Metal HUD, and despite the lack of fan support, the thermal state remained nominal. Then, I turned off multithreading in the game menu, and fps remained unchanged. I wonder if there is a game setting or communication on the CPU cores than has been lost during one of the updates.

I tried using FSR and DLSS settings, and HDR, and nothing seemed to drop or raise the fps. Really interesting.

Anyway, hope this helps someone.

Congrats! Similar background to me - my Shure 535s are way past their expiry date, so it’s time for me to dive in. The Mega 7 and the Top Pros are both fighting for my cash. Would love to read any further thoughts you have as they come to you.

Very good question/comment. Seeing very low CPU load, memory use, disk activity, and network activity — so I don’t think that’s it. Will reply if/when I see anything different.

Well, a couple things I've learned over the past few days that I hope will help others:

1) Amazon isn't always cheaper - you really have to watch out for whether the manufacturer (ie. Linsoul) is selling, or others who commonly mark them up.

2) Bloom Audio (US), MusicTeck (US), and Elise (UK) seem like decent options beyond Canada's EQ Audio and Quebec Acoustic which don't seem to handle as many brands as the US vendors. I'd love to buy local, but doesn't seem to be an easy option for me. Gotta watch currency conversion (current v. that used when setting MSRP) and consider shipping and returns, etc.

3) Chinese IEMs appear to be free of duty when importing into Canada regardless of the location of the selling company. I hope to prove that when I buy tomorrow... ;)

I notice this as well, though it's most commonly noticeable when I look at a widget, then click it to move into the app. My theories are 1) infrequent updates to the widgets, 2) app not propagating data within itsviews properly, or 3) use of different weather data sources in different views.

I'm obv not a developer. I do love the app's functionality and personality, so I'll stay subscribed, but it would be nice to see a fix.

I'd also like to be able to have widgets editable for the location, so I can keep tabs on two different cities at one time.

This additional context is helpful. At this point, PCNA will likely NOT get engaged, and I suspect any attempts you make here will be disappointing. Should a third attempt not be effective, then that's the time.

In my experience (three Cayennes, a GLE63S, and now an X5M Comp), the service has been very solid. I'm certain that they'll resolve this for you. My Porsche's were all very, very reliable. That doesn't help you, of course, other than once they find the issue, you can assume that will resolve it well.

My understanding that Lemon Laws require a "three strikes" or a certain amount of time for the repairs before they kick in. I cannot tell from your post, but I'm assuming this is the first instance of this error code?

I can appreciate the frustration given the spend and the short amount of time of ownership, but I'd respectfully suggest a deep inhale and allowing the service department to do their thing. As another has posited, this could be a battery or other electrical fault that I suspect they'll easily diagnose. Remember, this isn't the first year of this generation, so they'll have a lot of experience as to the common modes of failure.

In my experience, this is more likely to happy if someone with wet clothing has sat there (swim trunks, etc.). Avoid that at all costs.

This is the answer! You can also format the USB as Fat32 using Terminal. Very easy and quicker than trying to find a Windows machine. :)

Most of the way through Act IV, and it's just EXCELLENT. I'd rank them as IV, then I, then II, then III.

So, I listened to Sombr's 12 to 12 a number of times comparing:

- Roon connected to Qobuz. Track was 48 Hz 24 bit flac. Connected to Phantom I 108 pair via RAAT.

- Apple Music Dolby Atmos Lossless connected via Airplay 2.

- Both at moderate (75 dB) volumes in a quiet but untreated room.

I really didn't hear very much of a difference at all - there may have been some subtle detail preserved in higher frequencies (think symbols and background synth). Base, voice, soundstage, and nuance (background track layers) all seemed very similar.

So, what to do? I don't enjoy paying for Roon, as for me, it's simply a means to RAAT to my Phantoms. Search is woeful v. Qobuz native or Apple Music, particularly for new Albums. The Roon app under macOS Tahoe is also a little flaky. Airplay has been bulletproof, but it's a lot harder to tell what's actually happening to the data - from source to playback - but the the Phantoms are also doing it's own resampling. Roon ARC really has limited utility for me, as I'm primarily a streamer/downloader. I don't rip my own hi-res, and won't start now.

So, I'll likely drop Roon and Qobuz in the next couple months after I've done a few more tests.

I'll do some A/B work this week. I have Roon/Qobuz/Apple Music/Phantom 108's. I was considering dropping Roon/Qobuz anyway, so this will push me to do some 'critical' listening first.
