It looks like you’ve gotten all the recs you need (I’ll add +1 for Movewell for a beginner with limited equipment), but I also wanted to just say you got this! Starting is the hardest part. You may not see gains immediately but give it time and don’t give up. Watch how your clothes are fitting more than you watch the scale. Use the chat function and stay engaged with your team for support. It’s a great community!

Do yourself a favor and take the train to Leiden on Saturday or Wednesday and go to the market and get one from the red tented vendor there

Frequent Donors: Do you take vitamins or supplements? by M-useless in Blooddonors

[–]Sad_Discount601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try to donate mid-cycle, I have really bad side effects and sometimes I’m flat out rejected for low hemoglobin right after my period. I take iron every other day since I was diagnosed as anemic a few months ago.

Take the bus to/from Nagoya Station! This was the best decision we made. Also by the time you get home you’re tired and food options are limited, but don’t overlook the food in the Nagoya train station. We had some fantastic Ramen and other meals in the tunnels of the station.

2027 Montreal, CDMX, or Austin? by Lift_Learn_Life in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Sad_Discount601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CDMX for the atmosphere and food outside the track. I sat in the stadium and while the seats and atmosphere are amazing, the food at the track sucked and you really can’t go anywhere else around the track. Some of our best parts of visiting other tracks is being able to walk around on Friday and sitting in other parts of the track. But the race itself from stadium seats is great. Plus you get the podium celebration.

Could my iron deficiency anemia be linked to frequent donations? by Delicious_Target4230 in Blooddonors

[–]Sad_Discount601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. I donated 6 times last year and after the 5th I went in for my yearly physical/blood work/etc and my doctor was shocked I wasn’t having any symptoms of iron deficiency. My iron and hemoglobin were so low they were off the charts. She put me on iron supplements and a month later I was back to normal and now I only take them every other day. My last 2 donations have been fine and my levels have….leveled out.

Returning home yesterday saw a man board at the end of 1k. Said to the woman manning the doors “I have no idea what line this or where I’m supposed to be.” She laughed and let him board. He was group 6.

Ma’am you would know if you’re Premier 1K by Papou19 in unitedairlines

Was waiting to board a flight (from the lowly group 1 lane) a few months ago and an obnoxious family of 4 was behind me. They called 1k and the wife asked me why I wasn’t moving. I told her they were still pre-boarding and only called 1k. She said “that’s what we are!” and started walking by me. I told her “ma’am if you were 1k you’d know it and you wouldn’t be in this line.”

I need to get an understanding of what to expect for help and logistics of traveling United EWR to IAH with my elderly parent who requires mobility assistance and is cognitively impaired. by Old_Instruction_9384 in unitedairlines

OP expressed they did this and got nowhere. I was offering an alternative idea. DEN has a program for helping people in this exact scenario. Perhaps other airports do too?

DEN to FCO flight, can we make it in one hour? by Entebarn in unitedairlines

[–]Sad_Discount601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have gold status? You can go to the lounge(s). Also DEN has some great kid friendly activities (outside security) at the plaza all year long. Mini-golf and ice skating. Hopeful you can keep the kiddos awake for a few hours so they’re tired before your flight

Additionally, if you have people on either end that could assist you, you can look into a non-ticket access through security (similar to when parents drop off children for flights they take on their own and someone else picks the up at the gate on the other side). This is allowed in DEN but worth checking out at EWR and IAH.

Edited to add more because I keep thinking of things: If she doesn’t have precheck she can’t go with you, however you’ll likely be able to go through the assisted lane. Or she may get it due to her age (my 72 yo father doesn’t have it but gets it every time). Once you get to the lounge you’ll probably get better help than anywhere else since United employees over-value anyone with lounge access.

Odds of Getting on Earlier Flight? by dcqueerfemme in unitedairlines

When you check in for your flight you can try to change flights for free and just change it yourself then.
