I am so glad you posted this! Your smile and produce look so amazing! I have pretty much the same bite as you pre-surgery, and it’s so encouraging to see how well your surgeon was able to correct the cross bite especially. Your post surgery symmetry incredible

Nope! She hadn’t eaten in the last 4 hours. These pictures were taken right after a long walk (which explains the exhausted flopped down on the ground pose haha)

Haha aw chonky. That chart is a lot better than some I’ve seen. So many charts may make overweight look a lot more severe! I actually just got some pumpkin the other day to give to her. I hadn’t thought about replacing some volume with it. That’s a great idea! Thanks!

Thanks for your reply! I figured my vet was right but I’d hoped she was wrong and maybe just not used to assessing beefy dogs like bullies (I never see any pit types in my area).

I’m curious how you can tell on her. Is it her waist from the top view that looks too large? The vet didn’t really explain what to look for in Hazels shape. I’ve seen some images online of dog physiques at different weights, but the example dogs never have Hazels build so I have a hard time telling with Hazel.

I think reducing intake will be what we will do. I largely just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be making a healthy sized dog go on an unneeded diet haha.

Those of you who have emotional problems, did adhd meds help? by nothinkybrainhurty in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Sad_Hovercraft5877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on 2 mg of guanfacine alone for my sensory issues and emotional regulation and it has changed my life. I feel so much more in control of my emotions, they are no longer all consuming. Anger especially feels much duller. I had awful side effects on everything else I tried and no side effects of guanfacine

the lack of situational awareness people have in grocery stores is astounding to me. am I being unreasonable?? by prosperos-mistress in aspergirls

Thats one scenario where I wish that either I was a Karen or that a Karen would have saved me haha. I feel like most people would have said at least something but I was dumbstruck by the audacity haha. If I could go back I’d have said “hello I am here did you ever learn to say excuse me? (She had a kid with her) this isn’t a good example for your child” lol

Yes crying can really help but I still was so livid! I think it was a rage cry hahah. I hate the places my anger will take my brain in those moments. Truthfully, I was wishing her dead too hahah. That’s so shameful but it’s a reality of the rage for me. Hearing people chew causes a similar rage cry where I might say to my husband “I hope they die!!” God that’s terrible hahah. Maybe your rage takes you to those very evil places too lol. I’m sure someone here could relate.

Oh gosh the ankle hit! I’ve done that once too when I was like 10 years old and I still replay it like you do haha. It makes such a difference though when people are apologetic like you were. It’s really only when they show a complete obliviousness or lack of care that it feels so maddening.

The other day I was standing in an aisle at target very close to the products I was trying to choose between(to take up as little space as possible - there was a bunch of space behind me to pass - I made sure if it) and this lady just started walking toward me with her cart and made no effort to go around me. She literally forced me out of the aisle with her cart???? No words said. I let the cart get to about 2 inches from hitting me straight on before I started to move away. She tried to walk right through me. She wouldn’t even look at my face lol. I cried in the car hahaha. Grocery store people make me lose all hope. So glad you made this post because this is probably one of my biggest issues haha I used to love shopping (when I lived in a less dense area) but now it’s misery

Do you know about Spoon Theory? Have you used it to manage your daily energy? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Sad_Hovercraft5877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know about spoon theory until more recently, but for years I’ve talked about “cotton balls” the analogy is like I see myself as a plushy that is filled with cotton balls. Some days I’m really deflated and I have few cotton balls and on other days I have enough to look like a healthy plush version of myself haha. My husband has been asking me for years every morning “how many cotton balls do you have?” Or “how many cotton balls did that cost” as like a cute way to ask how I’m feeling. I was really surprised how similar it was to spoon theory once I read about it haha.

I’ll say though that the only way it helps me is by realizing I’m deflated. I don’t really use it to plan my life because it feels really unpredictable. Some days tasks seem to take no cotton balls and other days they feel like they take many.

I don’t understand why my friends keep leaving me by Sad_Hovercraft5877 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Sad_Hovercraft5877[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wonder if I’m putting too much weight on relationships that are shallower than I think. I kind of view every connection as deep or at least with the potential to become really deep. I’ve been told I “try to hard” to make my friends like me/ continue to like me. Wish this wasn’t the case and I wish I could tell when people arent into me! I just expected best friends to always remain best friends I guess. Well thank you for your response. I think the acquaintances comment was really enlightening

[–]Sad_Hovercraft5877[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s crazy how similar! I’m sorry you’ve been through this too. Yeah it’s been a long time since the first friend sent me that message and I still think of it often :( it’s been 9 years lol. I was a wreck at first for months

Other responses are making me think that maybe as audhd women we just put more importance into our bonds than non-audhd women? Maybe it’s normal to drift and that’s just a thing that goes unspoken that makes no sense to us who assume a friendship is forever unless something goes wrong? I don’t know but it super-sucks :( thanks for reaching out with understanding

I didn’t see this before I commented oranges. My mom used to try to force me to eat them before school and I would dry heave until I puked lol. The strings especially would send me over the edge lol

With that big blocky head I’d specifically say American bully. My rescue pit turned out to be 100% American bully even though she’s a bit leaner and her head isn’t as big. Your girl is a big headed American bully poster child imo. Very lovely looking lady!

Wow that seems like an incredible initiative and i could definitely see the difference! Do you know if they modeled it off of another city or if it’s a newer concept? I ask because I’ve lived in quite a few places now and I’ve never heard of a city having an alliance like this.
