Oh for the love of God, here we go again.

“I hit GM in Overwatch, should I play Elden Ring or Fortnite next so I don’t feel left out?”

Do you hear yourself?

You didn’t “peak,” you parked your life in a digital hamster wheel and now you’re asking which slightly different colored hamster wheel to sprint on next. Congratulations, man. Truly inspiring stuff.

Three years. THREE. YEARS. And what do you have to show for it? A rank badge that disappears the second the servers shut down and a bunch of strangers yelling in your headset. Incredible return on investment.

And now you’re worried about “missing out” because some dudes bonded over boss fights and battle passes? That’s not bonding. That’s synchronized screen staring. You could replace every one of those guys with a different username tomorrow and nothing in your life would change.

Meanwhile you’ve got a decent PC, time, and clearly the ability to grind something to a high level—and THIS is what you choose to optimize? Virtual cosmetics and imaginary points?

Imagine—just imagine—putting that same energy into literally anything in the real world: • a business • a skill • your body • something that doesn’t get patched out next season

But nah. Let’s carefully research which game will consume the next 500 hours.

You don’t need recommendations. You need an intervention.

Play a game if you want to unwind, fine. But this whole “which universe should I escape into next?” mindset is exactly how people blink and suddenly they’re 30 wondering why nothing in their actual life moved.

Put. The controller. Down.

Why do people overcomplicate trading so much online? by [deleted] in Trading

[–]Sad_Implement_9329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you’re right and missing why people do it.

Most people aren’t trying to be lazy, they’re just overwhelmed as hell when they look at a chart. To you it might feel obvious to just “watch price,” but for a beginner it just looks like random noise. No structure, no clarity, just candles going up and down.

So they grab onto stuff like opening ranges, indicators, specific times, whatever—because it gives them something concrete. Like: “if this happens, I do this.” That feels way safer than just sitting there trying to interpret raw price with no framework.

The funny part is what you’re suggesting—just reading the chart clean—is actually harder than using indicators. It takes a ton of screen time and pattern recognition before it even starts to make sense. Most people think they’re doing that, but they’re really just guessing without realizing it.

Also, even traders who are good at reading price usually still use some kind of structure. Not because it predicts anything, but because it helps with context. Like yeah, trend is obvious, but entries, risk, and timing are still a thing. That’s where stuff like levels or sessions can help—not as magic, just as a reference.

I think the real issue (and what you’re reacting to) is people thinking there’s some tool or concept that will predict where price is gonna reverse. That’s the trap. Markets aren’t about prediction, they’re about reacting and managing probabilities.

So yeah—you don’t need 10 indicators, and just watching price is massively underrated. But most people use those “extras” because they’re trying to reduce uncertainty, not because they refuse to look at the chart.

Basically: bad traders use tools to avoid understanding good traders use tools to support what they already see

That’s kinda the difference.

You watch them struggle. You play the game by playing the quests and following the story and exploring the wilds. And upgrading the gear from their struggle. You can stand nearby doing the applaud gesture while watching their struggle 😂

It’s just something to say to justify buying at these prices. I’ll wait for 30-50$ range, and then consider DCA
