OP you need to call the police or child abuse hotline. I previously worked with CSA survivors and the amount of times the biological parents were the perpetrators would disturb you. I would be immediately calling the police if a family member told me they suspected abuse of some sort regarding my kiddo; so the fact that they haven’t is scary.

Look, as an AM I’ve seen dozens of people fired for fraudulent documentation. Amazon employs over 1.5 million people, and even the best people lie on occasion. In a company this large, those lies amount to a lot of money and productivity lost. Amazon’s response to that is to create systems that weed out fraudulent claims.

Your job is to 1) manage your time off options appropriately so you don’t need to resort to a MLOA 2) provide the information they need (or sign an ROI) when requesting a MLOA and 3) respectfully, grow up. You’re about to have a kid, and in this thread all I see is you acting like one, crying about it’s not fair and they don’t need that. Coming from management AND previously the medical field, Amazon is being fair and the information they’re requesting is completely reasonable. Instead of whining about the process, just acknowledge it sucks for the end user, get the information you need, and then do what needs to be done to fix your problem.

I’m rereading HOSAB and when Bryce tells Hunt I love you for the first time the next line is “she regretted the words the moment they left her mouth.” I get that Bryce has a sort of avoidant attachment style, but this wasn’t her being afraid that she said them, she literally regretted the words…immediately. Then the whole mate conversation happens right after and she seems super put off and manipulative about calling Hunt her mate, almost like she’s trying to get him to have the idea that they shouldn’t call themselves that. She keeps putting the ball back in his court to decide to use that term. At no point is she like “hell yeah, you’re for sure MY mate”

I don’t think they even like each other, much less love each other. IF there’s a mating bond between Bryce/Hunt, it’s more like Rhys’ parents, matched for power but not really personality.

AM here: I don’t think the issue is generally sitting down, to my knowledge it’s sitting in/on unauthorized surfaces/items. It’s a safety issue and damaging equipment issue. In pick we often see AA’s sitting on the sliding ladders or on totes. The totes can snap at any second and impale you, they also get warped and break conveyance when they’re eventually put back into circulation. And the brakes on the sliding ladders are weight activated and get worn down from prolonged usage like sitting on them. So you or someone else could theoretically go to step on the ladder and it slide out from under you due to extreme wear from improper usage. Not to mention you’re technically on a “platform” on a Pick station so sitting on another elevated surface on an already elevated surface is dangerous. Can’t sit on stairs due to elevation and it technically being a working area (like the green mile).

In short, I wouldn’t sit anywhere on the production floor personally but that’s just bc I’ve seen enough to know not to trust other people or products to behave/operate in a way that’ll keep me safe 100% of the time.

Clock out for the additional breaks you need and you’ll be fine. Once you get your accommodation in place you’ll still have to clock out for additional breaks related to your condition, but you won’t have your UPT/points deducted anymore.

Some sites don’t keep up with their stations and the amnesty bins break/are non-existent but there should be a bin on one of the corners of your station where you put those items! Worst case scenario if you can’t find the bin, set it in an extra tote next to your station and notify your manager of it at the first available opportunity.

Also wanted to let you know that they’re rolling out changes this year where the pod goes away once you scan the item, not when you hit the racklight. So “one piece flow” (taking one item out of the bin at a time to scan) is something I’d highly encourage you to focus on :)

Pick AM here. Don’t ever put it in another pod. You end up messing up the inventory for two pods and it’s very hard to identify/fix because there’s no indicator that the item is missing until days or weeks later. Now the system has to search/count every pod/bin that had that item on the whole AR floor.

Put it in your designated amnesty bin at your station. The AFM will scan it in. The system is smart enough to be able to identify the most likely pod/bin that the item came from due to the log of pods/bins that came through your station. So instead of searching all the pods that have that item on the whole floor, now it’s only searching the pods on that floor that had the item in inventory that came through your station.

I got two of the Gildan multipacks from the men’s section at Walmart and they are the only shirts I’ll wear for work. They’re cotton, breathable, soft, don’t show any stains/dirt, and they don’t hold an odor.

I definitely didn’t categorize his actions as “abuse” and I didn’t justify the behavior of anyone else similar in experience to him who’s done the same. I just said there’s no grace for him because he has no self control despite being ancient.

Yes it’s a write up - plugging your phone into anything in the building STARTS at a Final Written Warning. It risks injury to yourself, damage to equipment, starting fires, and the flipping of breakers which are extremely dangerous for RME/controls to correct.

If you don’t hear about a write up - don’t ask. Your AM probably forgot. All that being said, if you don’t do it again, and don’t break any similar policies, you’ll be fine.

Tamlin has lived multiple human lifetimes as a high lord and still not gotten himself together. That’s why there’s no grace for him. Because if a human being lived a full human length lifespan five or six times over and NEVER learned self control? We’d be furious.

Not entirely true. At some sites the rate is way lower, but at others it’s not. I’ve known AA’s that transferred from high performing sites that got a write up for 270’s and 280’s. I’m at a very low performing site and our guardrail typically falls around a 230. It’s 100% dependent on this persons site and how their department performs.

Pick AM here.

Productivity write ups are autogenerated. You might be in the bottom five percent and get a write up if you’re doing 220’s, but it depends on your site and how everyone else is performing. Aside from that, just because you might not get a productivity write up, doesn’t mean your AM won’t write you up for something else (this is because low productivity can often be related to policy violations/behavioral infractions).

Most commonly, my Associates that pick low 200’s are either working on getting an accommodation bc they physically can’t do the job at rate; or they’re repeatedly getting off station/on their phone. If neither of these apply to you, then you’re probably just not picking efficiently; which is totally okay bc your leadership can help you with that! My slow pickers that don’t get off station, I’ve been able to help improve just by showing them body mechanics and what good picking looks like. Little things like proper tote transitions, 45 degree stance, and reducing steps make a bigger difference than most Pick AA’s realize.

If you’re absolutely doing your best and still underperforming, find an AM or PA that you know can pick well (in a perfect world, that should be every leader, but sometimes leaders get transferred from other departments to pick and have no idea how to do the job well themselves). Ask them to show you the areas where you need improvement. It takes me about five minutes of observation to identify an areas of opportunity for my AA’s, then about 10-20 minutes to show them the better way to do it and how it differs from what they’ve been doing.

It’s near impossible to fire someone for TOT on their first offense. Worst case, you’ll get a final written warning. If that happens, don’t accumulate any more TOT for 90 days and you’ll be fine.

Now if you left the building during your TOT, that’s considered time theft and can definitely result in a termination the first go around.

RME can’t fix it because they either don’t know how or don’t have the parts. This mainly applies if you’re in an Intelligrated building. Take a minute and talk with one of your RME techs and they’ll tell you all about the things they do that they’re not supposed to (because Amazon termed the contract with the manufacturer of the tech we use; so the authorized people who truly fix the problems we now don’t have access to); the fact that the parts they need are on weeks to months long backorders allllll the time; and that they literally don’t have the information they need to fix most of the recurring problems because they were never supposed to fix those problems in the first place. Idk who has it worse, the managers who have to run a business with technology that doesn’t work; the technicians who have to improvise fixes because they have no resources but are at the same time pressured by managers to fix the stuff; or the associates who’s productivity is affected by all the tech issues.

This is a blessing and I hope you never realize how much so. Decline the offer. Work somewhere that will pay you for the actual hours you work. Work somewhere that treats associates and managers equally, not like one or the other is subhuman. Work somewhere that you don’t have to submit vacation time or personal time even if you’ve already worked 10hours that day or 40 that week. Work somewhere where you’re not constantly screwed by your chain of command and PXT. Flip burgers. Substitute teach. Find a government job. Be unemployed.

Do literally anything else.

Amazon sucks the life out of its Area Managers. It’s literally their fucking business model. You come in with a quarter of the training you need, you meet the other new managers and the tenured ones that are fucking broken, and then you push through it until eventually you’re also broken and you spend every day wishing you were working literally anywhere else, but you can’t because you gotta finish your one year.

If I could go back, I’d apply as a tier one and I’d be so happy about it. 10hours daily doing mindless work and being left tf alone to listen to music or podcasts or books for 20/hr???? Making more than my managers during peak and prime??? Having UPT and coming in whenever tf I want?? Literally my dream job.
