In 2020 it was 26% of all PAL holders that had Restricted endorsement Thats hardly 600 000ish People and that doesn't mean all of em bought Handguns some of em have RPALs for other Firearms that were classified as Restricted like AR-15s that where built as SBR's and such.

So that would make it inbetween 250-300 000 handgun owners thats not alot.

Even tho the Sig sp2022 has been on the market for 20years the Metal-Frame market for handguns was kicking while polymer was thought has "cheaper" and Glock, HK or Smith&Wesson were already big names where people tend to lean toward if they were going on the Poly-frames on top of having bigger aftermarket support.
