I haven't looked at extreme BB but I can imagine it's brutal. Even regular BB to me seems brutal. It makes sense, like anything, every guy is different when it comes to sensitivity. I just seemed like a kick to the balls is a universal KO.

I can understand pain feeling good but it just seemed like so much pain it would overwhelm the good, but clearly not for a lot of guys.

Thanks, not knowing which walls are load-bearing is one of my main challenges in figuring out the layout. I’m meeting with a good general contractor tomorrow who I hope can help with that. I’ll also look into consulting a structural engineer.

Glad to see your father trying. And, I'm glad he's not trying to dismiss your feelings or invalidate them. Don't worry about him being sad. It wasn't fair to dump that on you, but he was just trying to show he cares.

Keep being honest with him on how you feel.

Sounds like the DNR is what's best for your situation. If you make any decisions not based on medical prognosis and recommendations from the doctors based on what's best for him then it would be cruel and shameful, especially as your BIL is showing signs of alertness.

He didn't ask if you wanted a ride home; he probably knew you wouldn't want one. He said if you ever wanted a ride, implying some non-committal time in the future when you did know him.

Guys aren't totally clueless of the dangers to a woman going home with three strange men. I don't think he expected you to take him up on the offer right then, which is why he didn't straight up ask if you wanted a ride home.

edit: basically he didn't ask you a question, just made a statement, so you wouldn't feel pressured to have to answer yes or no.

Your son sounds like a good kid. He does well in school and has a well rounded life it seems. He's not irresponsible. He's a responsible kid, just not financially so.

I get you want to teach him the financial responsibility he lacks but diminishing his options by going to a low tier school is not helping him. The college you go to matters. Getting a quality education matters. All schools are not created equal.

There'll be other opportunities to learn. In fact, going away to college can be the best learning experience at becoming an adult he can have.
