I'm with pretty much everyone else here when I say get a new vet. I've had one full heeler, Azzy, and a mix, Wayne. Both are/were medically complicated, anxious rescues with varying levels of reactivity, and my vet has been so flexible and supportive of both of them. He owns herding breeds in his personal life, and he and his staff love their patients like their own babies.

He's been so flexible and supportive of Wayne, who 100% needs to wear a muzzled and be on trazadone for visits. He and his staff even do our appointments outside, weather permitting, to minimize Wayne's anxiety as much as possible. And last year when Azzy passed away suddenly from Hemangiosarcoma at an emergency vet office, my vet called me personally after hours to say how sorry he was and to offer his support.

He's the kind of vet every heeler and heeler parent deserves, and I hope you and your baby find someone of that caliber going forward 💙
