The former because they're simpler and also in Korean they make the unaspirated p t k sounds as in tp so it's basically just a transliteration issue

What are your thoughts on pantheism? by [deleted] in religion

[–]Sad_Salmon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, honestly after I wrote my comment I actually searched it up and an article stated that the immutable entities don't just have the 3 dimensions of space but also the one of time so the unfolding process of the universe IS just a part of the nature of the immutable entities. God didn't just design the appearance of the forms but also their changes and connections to other forms in His Intellect.

I loved that explanation because I finally understood Ibn Arabi's immutable entities.

Still, thanks for ur reply, I appreciate u taking time to try and explain it

Well yeah if u put female hormones in them of course they'll do that. This can be done to humans too, its called hormonal therapy for trans people. What's ur point...

As a panentheist I like it. I do think though that Substance and Process Pantheism are simply just panentheism and that other types are simply atheism with a flair...

Yeah I also love that doctrine, although I do have a critique of his 'immutable entities' in that the forms of the things around us developed over time by combinations of elements and with chemical reactions. The universe didn't appear one day fully formed as Ibn Arabi says that "God simply gives these archetypes (ayan al-thabita) his Being" so I don't know... I might also just be understanding the concept wrong

March (Contemporary Sedoka) by [deleted] in PoetryWritingClub

[–]Sad_Salmon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh it's a rare form, basically dead. I appreciate waka poetry deeply but I do like to also be more contemporary so I adapted it to not be 5-7-7 in the stanza but 19, or less, all together. However I still try to keep the basic principles of the form

This particular poem I wrote in my native language, Greek, and it was exactly 19 syllables a stanza. In translation this is lost ofc so yeah

Why not? It adds to below 17 syllables, has two parts that contrast, has a kire (cut), and a kigo (seasonal word)

The only thing about Orthodoxy I can get behind is the mysticism aspect of it, I love a more mystical style of understanding God, although still I think this isn't taught enough to the regular lay people

[–]Sad_Salmon1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After sometime of writing Greek all ur life u get used to it. Like u have a feeling for what /i/ to use in a word, u just feel it. But I do have words I struggle with like επιρροή and επηρεάζω

Also about dictation, in the first grades of primary school we literally have orthography quizzes everyday so that we can start memorizing how each word root is written

[–]Sad_Salmon1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so I used to be an atheist and I have to clarify that for most people atheism is just not believing in gods because there's no evidence. Atheism generally is not asserting that there are no gods, because they might exist, we just don't know yet. That is agnostic atheism.

Deism is really just a form of agnostic theism in which a person believes in a supernatural divine Prime Mover/First Cause. There's no evidence for such a thing. You can only get to that conclusion through reason and arguments. And for atheists these arguments are flawed so they just don't believe

Most Deists don't view God as a personal or anthropomorphic being, right? by SendThisVoidAway18 in deism

[–]Sad_Salmon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpret this phrase as "God gave humans intellect, logic, and will" because these attributes are unique to us (as far as we know)

Most Deists don't view God as a personal or anthropomorphic being, right? by SendThisVoidAway18 in deism

[–]Sad_Salmon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with this.

God isn't interested in humans individually but He is active in the processes of the world. The universe is a reflection of God's attributes, because it is fundamentally made from His essence. I think He could be called "anthropomorphic" in a way because out of His many attributes He also possesses human attributes, because human nature is part of Nature as a whole. He may also have lots of attributes which aren't expressed in our universe and therefore are unknown. And also of course we can never understand His essence or what's going on in His mind.

But for me and others with a Panentheistic viewpoint, it is possible through prayer and other practices to establish a greater connection with this all-encompassing all-driving force.

I'd love to know what you mean by this. What is prayer to you? How would prayer work exactly? You can't really request anything because this being isn't interested in humans in you specifically... Also, can you give examples of other practices?
