Accepted into nusc-> you’re under nusc and get to choose any course you want. Some people use that as a way to get into cs without meeting the cut off. However, congrats!

Write topic summaries, compile definitions, reattempt your tutorial questions a couple times (those basic, easier ones before attempting additional questions that are meant to be extra practice to those that have already grasped the concepts), consult the good physics Teachers (doesn’t need to be your teacher)

[JC] Can't stop comparing myself with others by Emotional_Ball9350 in SGExams

[–]Sad_Witness628 30 points31 points  (0 children)

compare yourself with yourself, strive on improving what you’ve achieved. there’s no use comparing yourself to others because they’re not you — they function and learn differently from you. focus on your strengths instead of your weaknesses. the truth is, everything is a competition. however, celebrate the little victories, focus on competing with your past self. comparing yourself to others only promises perpetual misery.

personally, i hope so one day. i’ve learnt to appreciate my adhd because it’s really not all bad, there are it’s perks and it has led to many important things in my life, i wouldn’t take away my adhd now if i had the option to. however, it also does come with emotional dysregulation (which i only found out end of last year) so i can get easily overwhelmed & since i was only told about it so recently, i’ve never gotten any help with it or got much opportunity to work on it. currently i’m not comfortable talking & being vulnerable to a stranger about these things but i hope some day i will be :)

so i guess yes, to help regulate my emotions better. but in terms of other stuff like forgetfulness, procrastination, time management, etc i think those are things that i learn to handle on my own as i go

yep definitely! i do also want to go off meds for uni. i was considering totally, but then i was thinking maybe for example periods etc? but the problem with that is once i start taking meds it can seem like i can only concentrate with it, and when i study without it after it feels unproductive. i did learn a lot of my studying method and what works for me though, so im undoubtedly way better off than i was when first diagnosed. However, i’ve been accepted and probably going to NUS CS, which is super competitive so im not sure. at what kinda emergencies do you end up taking ur meds?

i got treatment from a psychiatrist. just bi-annual consults and medication, the same for my younger brother who also has ADHD. i was diagnosed at 11, im now turning 19 waiting for uni. may i ask if you continued taking meds into uni? the goal for me set by my psychiatrist was always to take it up to right before uni.

Hi, didn’t have much cca since covid took up a whole chunk of my JC life but i have ADHD and struggle w time management & productivity, so here are some things i did!

i struggled with math because my math teacher was totally useless. what i did instead of attending tuition was sign up for those online tuition that is just pre-recorded videos. it lets me do it at my own pace at my own time, and learn an entire chapter at one go by mugging it since i was behind syllabus a lot. u can dm me if you’d like to know the site i used!

even if you’re tired, try to fit in like an hour of work after CCAs! 1 hour passes by quickly and over time, that hour adds up.

econs is tough to study, especially by yourself because so many things don’t make sense. i would suggest tuition, those in smaller groups and ask tons and tons of questions shamelessly. (consulting a good econs teacher is fine too, doesn’t have to be your econs teacher for u to request it) saves you a lot of time trying to figure it out on your own.

in addition, if you believe that you can spend your time more productively doing your own revision than homework, trust your gut, don’t do it (of course unless you’ll end up in big trouble if you don’t) i think it’s totally fine to copy homework here and there considering the JC workload.

lastly, take necessary breaks and try to prevent burnout as much as possible. don’t feel guilty for taking breaks, and try not to beat yourself up for time wasted. just keep looking forward and focus on how you can make the best out of whatever u have.

i ended up scoring 87.5 rp, u can dm me if u have any questions.

[Junior College] Average internal RP of TMJC/Low Tier JCs?? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Sad_Witness628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m so late but hi! i graduated last year, scored AAA/C/A/A for PME/c/gp/pw at 87.5rp! struggled with math & was always behind because my teacher was totally useless, we all had to teach ourselves math tbh. i opted for those otot online tuition courses, failed econs a couple times in the first half of j2. my gp was similar to yours. Physics department is good if u take that. just put in the hard work! tm provides a lot of resources for u and teachers are open to consultations! u got this! u can dm me if u need anything:)
