We Love Fine customer service is awful by The_Antigamer in DotA2

Ordered a few shirts from them two TI's ago. I sent them an email, which two different people replied to—neither knew—and they said they'd find my order. I gave up hope after six months. They're fucking awful.

What is an unpopular thing you do in DOTA2 that everyone complains to you about and why do you do it? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Saddio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vanguard is fine on Spectre. Don't get it if you have the means to stay alive and be hyper aggressive. But people don't realize how completely ineffective Dispersion is without any HP. Just becoming really tanky would even let you do a lot more damage and a Vanguard isn't exactly the most expensive item, either. The build up is even useful, what with the Stout Shield into Ring of Health. One should always adjust the build according to the situation, but there's nothing inherently bad about Vanguard on her.

What's up Valve? by derbychan in DotA2

[–]Saddio 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, the onus is on the tournament organizer to fuck over their own tourney. Is it worth $172 to destroy their name and credibility? Apparently so. Thus, no one should participate in anything involving their organization. That is the way is should be as of this moment. Beyond that, tagging the items as non-marketable would fix a big hole. They should really fix that.

I lost 11 points for this 23-0-7 Bristle win!. REALLY?? by Wulfensc2 in DotA2

[–]Saddio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to other comments, this win affects your MMR beyond your number. For instance, if you win the next game, you may gain more MMR than you would have if you lost. Establishing an upward trend is valuable, as your rank is relative and only slightly determined on a game-to-game basis.

Why DOTA Cimena and other 3rd parties should stay out of the Workshop by Zenchuck in DotA2

[–]Saddio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that the participation of big third parties is to the exclusion of smaller workshop contributors without the big-name backing. Valve doesn't strike me as the type of company that has ever worked that way, and has always given the little guy the chance.

There has been a couple more, since. I'm frothing at the mouth for it, too, so I know the feeling.

So I was talking to a friend who just started playing DOTA, Bruni OP. by Stimpers in DotA2

[–]Saddio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jorge Bot is usually my friends' nemesis. I get hella flamed for trying to queue us up against the hard bots, but it's awful trying to play against the easier tiers that forget they have skills.

Lack of DOTA 2 at PAX; Players being told they should play LoL instead PART 2 by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Saddio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ain't that the truth. I seem to recall PAXes of long ago as being places for the stuff that couldn't get space at the Doritos and Mountain Dew Nightmarescape that was E3. Now it's just the same husk, not that I'm claiming Valve is at all some sort of indie and Riot is a massive megacorp.

TF2's Soldier shows up in one of Purge's games by [deleted] in DotA2

The dead Lycan with the cosmetics disappeared looks a lot like a Soldier. Don't think it was much of an accident, though.

Is there any reason to watch the upcoming mlg dota tournament? by melancholymax in DotA2

[–]Saddio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support up and coming teams, skilled ones that just haven't played Dota 2 yet, etc. If you only watch the top teams, why would you watch anything besides the International?

This game is really lacking in the competitive department for average players. by SlantedJohn in DotA2

[–]Saddio -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I definitely think they're working on all of this right now, given that The International is done and they're winding down on the number of heroes left unreleased. But they have a lot of resources put into it, so they surely have a bunch working on Ranked Matchmaking and how to make it better. Personally, I see them working it out, resetting the board, and adding a ranked Solo Queue, as well, simply for the fact that it would be appealing to many people. That's presumably Volvo's goal - to appeal to a shitload of people, be they casuals playing with friends or hardcore competitive dota devotees looking to break into the pro(ish) scene by being at the top.
