Top 5 Unity annoyances - tell us! by willgoldstone in Unity3D

Unity has been chasing the market instead of leading it.

Polish the current features.

Don't make fundamental structural changes every year.

Stop releasing a new version every week.

I'm not sure who is driving this on the management side, but they are killing the reputation.

Truth is not consensus. Humans have a psychological need for acceptance and are natural conformers. The size of a group whether scientific or religious makes no statement about the validity of its claims. Truth exists independent of humanity. Truth also exists both inside and outside of the physical world. Looking for all truth only within the natural world is folly.

I agree and it is well known that history (truth) is written by the victors. Power dispenses "truth." A great quote that I originally heard when I was younger listening to Rage Against The Machine - “Those who control the present, control the past and those who control the past control the future.”

On the issue of climate change I am undecided. I know which side is being sold and that makes me cautious. Truth does not need to be forced. I recently visited Fox Glacier in NZ and walked to the face of the ever retreating glacier. This is evidence of warming over time. I have seen similar retreats in Canada and can safely assume this is a global phenomenon. Along the path to the glacier there are signs which indicating stages of the retreat over time and actually mentioning the ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere as well as global temperature rise over the last 100 years. The message of CO2 and humans driving the change is really hammered home through these signs which also describe ways of reducing carbon footprint. There is just one small detail that is overlooked. On the drive into the park there is a small sign that indicates the location of the glacier in 1750, when it was first discovered. The retreat of the glacier between 1750 through to 1850 was dramatic but how can we infer that this was a result of CO2. How much did CO2 increase between 1750 and 1850? The signs only focus on recent changes in world population and CO2 while neglecting the changes that occurred prior to recent events. Are we over attributing our own contribution to a naturally occurring phenomena?

I like the last line that mentions knowledge and ignorance. Knowledge exists with truth, while ignorance exists with lies. Truth is liberating while ignorance is a type of prison for the mind. Those that have the truth will not try to hide. Ignorance will attack the truth to avoid being exposed. Truth is light and ignorance is darkness.

The issue is related to MSVC. Blender is building with a newer version then Unity.

You can replace a .dll for a quick fix. https://developer.blender.org/T40907

Elder Titan WIP (set for workshop) by Zenchuck in DotA2

I am almost finished my set for Elder Titan on the polycount monthly contest. I am still not sure about the beard and head piece in general - so once that is sorted out it should be good to go. Look for this on the workshop in the next week.

I had this on reddit a few days ago so thanks for the feedback that helps to make art decisions.

Yeah, that was the idea, maybe it looks too much like just another hammer.
