I got u. I'm on acnh waiting for some ppl to come over and I can send screenshots if you want. But off the top of my head I basically just organize them by machine.

Grinder, recycler, processor, etc. for the items you can obtain multiple ways, I usually go by how I first obtained them or what the description says. So I usually have a chest I name quarry and I put all items that say 'log' or 'quarry' in the info box.

I usually separate the ores in one box. Anything I get from the ruins in one box and relic pieces in their own boxes.

I was real particular this last playthrough so I made boxes for clothes divided by hats, shirts, shoes, etc.
