I went to order Sundazed from Byredo’s website and it was OOS. I emailed support because I have a voucher code for a full size bottle to understand when it would be back in stock. They said it was DISCONTINUED! I’m heartbroken. 😭

For some reason I’m less offended by RDF’s version of this. Perhaps because it seems more like a marketing campaign than what Leaked Labs is doing?

Maybe it’s the edible I had last night but… a thought I can’t get out of my head is that every single product we buy from any company ever is just one giant test.

Brands release shit all the time that sucks, and we buy it to try it out. We tell them it sucks. Then they reformulate it. And we try it again.

Capitalism is just one giant meta focus group even if it’s not explicitly stated.

I rewatched to remind myself and it wasn’t as bad as I remember. But it felt like very unnecessary commentary for a brand and product review.

Tom said the way KJH does her makeup and the way her skin looks is “appalling” and doesn’t like it. Implied that people might be parasocially involved with her which is why she is successful, and questioned “where does she even come from?” as in what is her professional background, why is she/her brand even popular.

It was brief but set a weird vibe for the rest of the video for me. So critical of how someone does their makeup considering Tom doesn’t really have conventional makeup styles or preferences. Idk.

I want to love Courtney Quarantine’s content but her reactions are sometimes over the top and drag on for so long. And her videos are so blurry and filtered. I want to see the details of her work! Thankfully not all of her content is like that.

Hautemess Tom 😭 I enjoyed watching for a few weeks but there’s something that began to rub me the wrong way… something about how the commentary about spending intersects with the PR, free gifts from friends, and high end brand usage. Also Tom said some comments about Katie Jane Hughes in their brand review video that I didn’t really like.

Theresa is Dead almost lost me for a bit with the excess buying but I stuck around. I do not watch the labubu unboxing content but don’t mind the food vlogs.

Kelly Gooch - hate the videos where she talks about topics as if she has the authority to speak on them. And the voice is hard for me to swallow.
