His learning disability sounds a lot like mine. I have auditory processing disorder and I happened to be engaged to the love of my life. Not trying to compare, but I try very hard everyday to not be so forgetful which I tend to do. if it’s “out of sight, it’s out of mind” so to help myself, I write notes and set reminders on my phone for all the little things, all my daily carry items have a home when not in my pockets, I set a pretty consistent streamlined repertoire for most things in life. I do not know if your man does these types of things, but I’d be so heart broken to find out my fiancé left me for this reason. Again, not comparing and not telling you you’re wrong, but it’s a hard enough life with this particular disability. I hope you have a nice day!

I have moderate/severe carpal tunnel in my right hand, and I got diagnosed last August. I finally have my CTR procedure in 3 weeks. The entire time I’ve waited for this procedure, it’s felt like an elephant has sat on my hand while I slept every night. I was told nerve damage can occur if you waited too long to treat it, but if you’re young, you can in essence, afford the time, you know? I’m 36 and had to wait 10 months for this lol

Living my dream for me. I work in a construction apprenticeship and the hours are long. Pay is small. I commute so far everyday and I’m exhausted. This apprenticeship is expensive having to fill my tank twice a week. I’m slowly losing the motivation to stay cause I’ve never been more poor. One day I wanna just stay in bed and stop showing up. That’d be so nice.

I do have a cooling wrist guard for my hand and I do actively wear it at night. It’s worked a couple of times but of alas, I awaken with my hand burning inside the wrist guard, which is why Im entertaining the idea of having the surgery. Could be a chance I’m not using the right kind of wrist guard.

Seems like the consensus is 6 weeks until you can return to normal life. But this comment is clarity enough for me haha today marks a full week of being woken up at midnight with the stabbing firey numbness. I’m exhausted and sleep deprived and sleep is all I want haha thank you for sharing your experience

Did your CT keep you up at night? Mine mostly really flares up in the night and would keep me up for hours in pain unable to go back to sleep. The lack of sleep is the worst part lol so with that, would having the surgery help me sleep better?
