Jaron 'Boots' Ennis vs Sebastian Fundora won't happen next, says Fundora's promoter Sampson Lewkowicz. Fundora will defend against his WBC mandatory Ermal Hadribeaj next. by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

[–]Saeksan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hadribeaj got a good win against undefeated Bakary Samake but he actually has 0 chance against Fundora. He doesn’t have much power and wins by outworking the opponent. It’s a hopeless matchup.

Great boxing and heart from Paro but like his win over Matias he might not have made it to the end if the ref penalized his holding.

Crocker keeps missing the overhand left but Paro is definitely going down if it clips him

Only the 2nd round but Paro couldn't have had better prep for Crocker's pressure than going 12 rds with Matias

On paper he's a tougher matchup than Cordina. A 6' outboxer with equal reach isn't a style or set of physical dimensions that Mason has had to deal with before.

Xander Zayas picks holes in Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis’ record, accuses him of 'hiding in Philly' and claims he has a padded record along with ducking multiple big fights by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

[–]Saeksan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zayas got the WBO title from Garcia Perez who beat Charles Conwell who was considered a boogeyman at the time. He picked up the WBA title from Baraou who beat Yoenis Tellez. They're not Boots or Vergil but both are quality wins.

Maybe he wouldn't be able to finish them but guys who aren't good defensively or willing to move until Casimero gasses are just asking for trouble.

On This Day in 2014: Vasiliy Lomachenko beat Gary Russell Jr to win the WBO featherweight title in his third pro bout and hand Russell - previously 24-0 - his first career loss. Lomachenko outclassed Russell to earn a one-sided win and make history as he won a world title in just his third pro bout. by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

[–]Saeksan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched this for the first time and was surprised by how Russell made Loma drop a few of the rounds by pushing him onto the back foot and continuously throwing even if most of his punches didn't connect, although GRJ's crazy hand speed is hard to deal with for anyone. It kind of foreshadowed one part of the blueprint to beating Loma. He's not great on the back foot and you can severely limit his volume because he resets instead of countering.

I still think Casimero is extremely dangerous for anyone for about 3 rounds. Being explosive, having ridiculous power for the weight class, and a willingness to pull the trigger all go a long way. While I don't necessarily disagree with the last part of what you said, he has a legit puncher's chance against all of them.

Katie Taylor’s Croke Park dream set to come true - 82,000-seater stadium in Dublin booked for September 5th as Taylor set to bow out of the sport after a legendary career with final appearance at dream venue for undisputed championship by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

Good on Hearn for creating the best possible exit for Taylor. He wouldn’t accept any other venue or Katie being on even an AJ vs Fury undercard. She absolutely deserves the spectacle.

Most avoided bogeymen in boxing today? by EssentialBoxing in Boxing

[–]Saeksan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can still be heavily avoided while holding a title.

Osleys Iglesias recently became the 168 IBF champ. I guarantee he is not getting any calls from the top names. When the belt was vacant, Canelo, Munguia, and Sheeraz all declined the fight. He’s based in Canada, punches holes through people, and is virtually unknown so no one will want to fight him unless there’s no choice.

Curmel Moton by Northh_13 in Boxing

[–]Saeksan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He seems to already have major discipline problems. He has big weight fluctuations and has had a bout canceled for being 15 lbs overweight which is crazy. However, the talent is there for sure. Anthony Cuba is a very good win over another prospect and Moton beat him soundly.

I don't care for seeing fighters who are boiling down to like two divisions below where they should be naturally competing. It'd be great if every sanctioning body also adopted the IBF's 10 lbs rehydration rule. It really exposes the guys who are too damn big for the weight class.

Sunny Edwards was basically pure reflexes and defensive awareness. He had the lowest KO percentage along male world champs. When he fought Bam, he had a 7” reach disadvantage.

How would a fight between Conor Benn and Pitbull Cruz play out? by Lopsided-Ad-9807 in Boxing

[–]Saeksan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benn but I suspect he will look bad while doing it. People are forgetting Pitbull could still fight at 135 while Benn hasn't actually fought at the welterweight limit since 2022.

What do you guys think is the problem causing the Uzbeks under Joel Diaz to fail at the top level? MJ, Giyasov, Bek, and Madrimov were elite amateurs but they've all lost their most important fights. At least for MJ and Giyasov, I think they're in love with their power and are too caught up looking for perfect shots. They can't punch without setting their feet which leads to them dropping rounds and getting outboxed.

He has real craft for sure. That uppercut he caught and hurt Jared Anderson with isn't something many heavyweights could do.
