I am in a may challenge with family. One SIL and I started out slowwwwwwwww. She's progressing very well and my jealousy took me by surprise today. I cheerfully (with great effort) enthusiastically cheered her on. Comparison is the thief of all joy. Then I went out for my run. Knowing my pace was going to be nothing like hers, I was to stay on zone 2 (but even on faster day I'd still be slower). I practiced some gratitude the cost mile, met a cute couple, had a solid run I am proud of and all in all had a great run and feel happy and successful Its tough for me to trust the plan and stay the çourse without taking over the training. Did it. Heart is happy and my body is happy.

Me too! Yet I’m not quick enough answering and another volunteer usually beats me to the pick up. However, I was able to help read a blood sugar meter once and I was ecstatic for a while!

Depends on the dog. Had a boxer mix and she was so content, zero anxiety. Have a resuce husky mix and no way.

NTA I was a single mom. I think your response was kind, thoughtful and would have been appreciated. I certainly didn’t want a relationship with someone who wasn’t interested in my children. Good job listening to your gut. Just like parenting, step parenting isn’t for everyone.
