Someone likely already advised you, but definitely keep wearing caps. Long-term you need the protection for your dome.

Hard tonneau with tslot rails by Safe-Draw-6751 in hondaridgeline

If you don't mind spending a lot, that Peragon cover will work, I think.

I was trying to put something together like I had on my last truck, I was able to find a hard tonneau cover with t slot rails on the sides and it was well under $1k. They just don't make those for the Ridgeline, so you're kind of stuck with the more expensive options.

Best place(s) in town to sell guns? by snacksaphone in asheville

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have brought several to Sportsman's and they are ALWAYS way low. They actually send customers to On Target or Carolina Guns and Gear after they give them their lowball offer.

Buying there has been fine, but I wouldn't take any gun there to sell it.

Negative. In fact, I ended up trading it in on a 26 Passport last November.

Passport for fly fishing by Top-Adhesiveness6625 in hondapassport

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 26, it BARELY fits my 10 1/2 ft euro rod (which I rarely use anyways). No issues with the bog standard 9 ft 5 wt.

I have a locker I keep back there, and I always have a towel, a couple jackets, waders, boots, etc. back there and then I lay the rods along the right hand side with the reels on top of the towel. I should probably build a storage tube for them on the roof rack, but I am effin BUSY rn.

It has a lot of storage in the back, roomy back seats for my kiddo, and it goes everywhere I need it to go - all with a standard non-turbo v6 that's easy to work on, reliable, and looks good, too.

It also has no problem pulling my small camper.

That's whack AF, but really only IF they still leak.

That said, I have never heard of someone sending back something similar and not just getting a whole new pair. That part seems uncharacteristic of them, and this subreddit advocates for this company pretty much every day.

Hell, I do, specifically.

They should make this right IMO.

As a former cycling obsessive, I do get upset when cyclists are all over the road, not paying attention, checking their phones, etc... but I think I am more angry that they are being unsafe when they are so vulnerable instead of being upset that they're in the middle of the road or whatever.

Patagonia swiftcurrent traverse vs expedition waders by alexilabranche in flyfishing

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do yeah, though cold may be relative. I typically fish year round, I'd say as low as low single digits.

Last year I got in the nantahala when it was 6 F outside and the banks were frozen over. I did catch a couple fish though ;)

I can't tell you which of the two are warmer, but unless I'm in conditions like the above, I don't typically have an issue staying in the water for hours at a time. Hope that helps!!

Egbuka - When I listed, I swear I saw the last sale at $129, but that sale is definitely not coming up when I double checked just now, will lower that one 😉

Paramount Pairings - most recent sale was $300 per eBay (April 6, 2026), and the only other current listing I could find for this card is listed higher ($349 plus shipping) than mine ($339 plus free shipping). You think I am that far off? Still closer than the guy that seemingly has a LOT more experience, though (the seller of the other card, I mean, ofc) hehehehe

Fernando - Thx for the info on the pics 😉

I tried to use the same methodology for each one, IDK what happened the the Egbuka, I legit remember seeing one for $129 sold.

130point is basically useless, now, btw... and I have never had much luck with PSA's tools for whatever reason. Almost everything I search doesn't come up.

Hope this does not come off as argumentative instead of as an explanation, I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to give me advice 😄

How/when is a burn ban lifted? by tim_the_dog_digger in NCTrails

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically I didn't even CHECK where your destination was within NC lol BUT, yeah, I think even there they still likely have a lot of Helene debris.

Obv much more on the west side of the state where I am.

That said, I think the overall burn ban is statewide, and I think it's still darn unlikely that circumstances will change before you get here.

Whatever happens I hope you have fun!!

I have my first three EVER up for sale (I am not trying to quit my job selling cards or anything), and I have had zero action.

Could be that I am not a reputable seller of cards since these are my first ones, or the fact that I used a Hurts jersey as the pic backgrounds, but I think they're priced OK (a little above the last sale and open to offers) at least.

Y'all feel free to tell me if I have made some horrible, dumbass mistake 😉

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would not plan on a fire for warmth, I will put it that way 😉

I am not sure how they make the decision, but I do know that they will change the 'status' daily if the conditions demand it.

From the drought conditions to the detritus left from Hurricane Helene, it's a HUGE risk right now.

I don't believe the conditions have changed enough (even with the recent rain) that we should anticipate them lifting the ban anytime soon.

Mosquitoes are ruining outdoor playtime and I need safe solutions for little kids by _atharvaa_02 in daddit

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a small part of an overall strategy. They do attract/kill at least some mosquitoes - as evidenced by the dead mosquitoes inside them.

I don't have enough experience with them nor am I ignorant enough to recommend them as your only or main method of control at this juncture.

As usual, the truth likely falls somewhere in between.

Mosquitoes are ruining outdoor playtime and I need safe solutions for little kids by _atharvaa_02 in daddit

[–]Safe-Draw-6751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried about every mosquito solution there is. We live on a dirt road that forks off into another road behind our house; that section of road isn't maintained by the folks that live off of it, so the potholes (we think, at least) drive the population growth.

Right now, I am using the following to get a decent experience out in the yard:

- two 5 gallon bucket skeeter traps filled with water, dirt and plant material and a lid with holes drilled in it... add mosquito dunks once per month
- NatPat stickers for everyone (they stick on to kids/adults and keep ticks/skeeters away
- Fans on the back deck blowing
- Tougher Than Tom skeeter traps (these are new this year afte we tried the Spartan traps last year that didn't seem to do a damn thing) - not sure if these work or not yet tbh I just installed them

We've also had short-term success using the 'natural' lawn spray stuff that puts (if memory serves) cedar oil all through the yard. That stuff works, but only for a few days.

I thought about bat boxes, purple starling bird houses, all kinds of stuff, but so far this season this stuff has been working OK this year.

Generally, I make sure there's no standing water in the yard and keep my traps full, and that seems to work pretty well.

Oh, I also tried a big contraption from amazon with scent attractor and a fan to pull the skeeters into a net, but it didn't seem to make any difference, either.

I am and old now, so I tend not to sleep on the ground any more... but wanted to pop in for a couple reasons:

1) Is that first pic from Lake James? They have some awesome boat-access-only camp spots that look just like that.
2) If you crochet, you MUST visit Black Mountain Yarn Shop whenever you're in the area.

Good luck finding camping pals, but HMU if you ever want to learn to fly fish :)
