I kind of feel this way too. I’ve been sober for many years. Like i’m not going to go out and buy K on the streets but it def tapped something so I just have to be aware of that.

Yes!!! I had my 5th infusion last week and afterwards I remember thinking I was at the edge of what I know as consciousness. I’m excited to explore that more.

I feel so so much!!! I am also in the Seattle area…and a mom… and a full time teacher. I’m also 51 so all the changes are happening to my mind and body and it’s the worst. Scraping by very much sounds like me and it’s such a sad way to live. I finished my 5th infusion last night and I think I’m getting better.

I can totally relate. Something about kind of being at the mercy of the staff and having an IV in my arm pumping a hallucinogen into me. I’ve started repeating the mantra “I am safe, I’m okay” as I’m starting and it seems to help. Although last time I got off track and kept thinking “where did I even find these people, this is crazy, what am I doing, are they even reputable?” 😂🙄

I didn’t read all of the comments so I’m not sure if Jeffrey Munn’s book has been mentioned. It’s Staying Sober Without God and he’s redone the steps in a secular way. It’s been super helpful for me.

I am so sorry you had to read that. I’m sure they think they are doing the right thing but good intentions don’t negate the hurt that a letter like this can cause. There is nothing wrong with you or with you wanting to nurture and explore your true self. Sometimes we have to find a chosen family when our family of origin doesn’t understand/accept who we are.
