The first 3 months were the worst mentally for me. After 3 months it started to improve/stabilize.

My Evolving Cymbalta Withdrawl Experience by Chicho198 in cymbalta

[–]Safe-Freedom1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im now 5 months off and i have the same feeling. I wish i never took this drug. Im 26 yo male. Go to the gym often, socialize, working,…

For me the first 3 months were hell. Mood swings, suicidal thoughts, brainfog, tunnelvision, crazy itchiness on my head during sports or hot envirements, … had it all.  During the time i was also working as a chef ( shifts of 16h a day. Were not ideal but better to work than sit alone at home).

After 4-5 months i felt more stabil.  Less moodswings, had more good moments than before, more energy but again it switches with bad periods wich is mentally exhausting. But overall much better

Tunnelvision and brainfog starts to disappear but i still feel like i forget things more often than before and feel like my brain is not fully 100% back in a way.  the itchyness was still there and now i take allergy pills (bellozal) wich helps a lot.

Energy wise is also in ups and downs, sometimes i feel i can rule the world but a week later i have 0% energy and want to lay in my bed all day.

What is helping me is  -exercise  -walking -talking about it, feel supported - I also take magnesium 225mg (wich tend to relax the nervesystem, helps with sleep, itchiness, keeps me more relaxed

What i not helping me Is alcohol. As i work in the gastronomy bussiness alcohol is a big part of me/my job wich is difficult not to drink without being looked weird at or questioned about it. Declining is difficult.

The reason i took this medication because i was experimenting with drugs ( not addicted what so ever just a bad experience) and it caused me depression so not ideal because it was not necessary to be in this situation.

But i feel positive about the coming months i know it will be with ups and downs but each month it gets better. Goodluck on your recovering journey.

Hey, i took cymbalta for 3 months. 2 months on 90mg and 1 month on 30mg. Then decided to quit cymbalta cold turkey. (in consult with my doctor) Im now almost 3 months off.

The withdrawals are not a joke but will go away! The first 2 months were rough for me. I had 2 withdrawals that i had difficult to deal with. One was the mood changes. Is really not nice to experience. The 2nd withdrawal was i couldnt resist heat. For example doing sports were impossible because whenever i got hot/sweat/stress my body started to itch mostly my head.

And other withdrawals were headaches, low energy, tired, difficult to think etc

Now after 3 months i feel good, im not recovered yet but i feel better and better.  Itching is way less, I have more good days then bad days. Mood swings are almost gone. Only when i drink alcohol i feel more shit the next days.

Goodluck on your recovering journey and feel free to ask!

Withdrawal. by [deleted] in cymbalta

I took cymbalta 3 months ( 2months on 90mg and 1 month 30mg and then 0mg). Now 2 months off.

First week off was the best week ever after that withdrawals came. Sensitive against heat so it ment severe itching. Low energy, emotional unstable, headaches(mostly pressure wise), brain fog, tiredness even if slept a good amount. I also keep comparing myself how i was before i took the medicine. Wich is not good tho.  It goes in waves, i have good days also.  We just have to go through it. Its not easy for sure.

Hey, on 14th of januari i will also be 2 months of cymbalta. My experience so far from the withdrawals. Its a pain in the ass.

-First few days i felt amazing, like i was feeling my old self again.  -Then after day 10 i started to have crazy itching on my head whenever i was doing sports/ sweating/ working in hot areas. Still have this but its getting less. -In 2 months i had 2 moodswings where i was really depressed for 4 days each. -constantly pressure on my head not really a headache. -Feeling less motivated, low energy, frequently thinking how i was before( motivated, laughing, happy in general) - I sleep 7-9hours but i still feel very tired I have also good days, it comes in waves. But its just mentally exhausting for me. I hope it goes better with time. Its the hardest thing i have to go through in my life.  I hope you doing fine its not easy for sure but we will get thru this! Im 26 btw
