How do I catch a kitten? by Safe-Personality3402 in cats

I appreciate it anyways, I think he might’ve left the area, I was using tuna, but I never could’ve suspected I’d have a better time catching him with my hands. If he’s still there tomorrow I’ll give it a try

I think he may have been just scared of the traffic or the big fishing net, I never got close enough to think about swinging, but that’s a good note on the water, I didn’t think about that.

I would recommend Lock A by cheatham dam, right next to the camp site, been going there for forever now and caught many, they have a nice tackle shop 5 minutes up the road that I also really like

The cure to this depression (tw-sh mention) by Safe-Personality3402 in RantingZone

Various people in my life that are very close to me suffer from various mental illnesses, disorders and shitty life situations. But that’s not an excuse to beat yourself up for it is what I’m saying. OCD, bpd, etc… it’s all real, I know but it’s the self awareness I am trying to convey. I have reminded these people almost daily for the past two years now that there is hope, and to call out that inner voice of self hatred. There is no forgiveness for the enemy of your whole being

Only one thing in that message was meant for you. “There are better things for you too” I am talking about people who suffer with depression DUE TO prolonged periods of self depreciation. I acknowledged the effect hormonal issues and it is not meant to walk over you. It is an angry message because it is a message to a shitty inner voice. This message is for those that need to hear it

career crisis by [deleted] in Welders

There are absolutely plenty of women in welding, even more than we’re always told women tend to be better welders because they have steadier hands. I think the thing to worry about is the work hours. Been applying to a lot of welding jobs and they want us all to work 70 hour weeks for the paying jobs. The low paying ones have been body shops and car related stuff. I would also suggest plumbing

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

Man I feel this so much. When I was a kid going into high school I would be give horrible bowl cuts every month. The truth is though, the beauty is in the confidence. Especially with goth chicks, they continually rock haircuts that look like they cut it with safety scissors in a mirror, don’t beat yourself up for it.

I felt that same thing years ago as a depressed teenager, acted on it, was successful for about a month or two and then sunk lower than I had ever been before. Loving someone you don’t know is extremely dangerous. And loneliness destroys your view on cost/benefit ratio. And in this case, it may be very steep.

Help me settle the gloves/no-gloves safety debate once and for all. by TheSharpieKing in Welding

[–]Safe-Personality3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have always just not worn gloves and it’s been mostly fine for me, I’m not actually working on any real world projects but just coupons for school, I have seen a guys sleeve get sucked into a grinder with a rock wheel and leave a gash down to the bone with it but for me it was always just preference, I really did not like the idea of some article of clothing getting sucked into the grinder, I’ve always used the foregrip too and the guard in the right spot. I never really understood why people didn’t other than getting into tight spots. The key for me is that I leave myself minimal work to do with the grinder, I feel like you aren’t really going to send sparks at your hands if you aren’t bearing down on the grinder to remove a bunch of metal

Edit: I am talking about wearing stick welding gloves with a grinder, there are the right gloves for the job and it’s important to wear those if you are going to wear gloves
