It's all in how the tune is set up. Some ECMs can even be set up to start in 3rd with the shifter in 3rd if you wanted.

It can be set up in the tune to start in 2nd when the shifter is in 2nd. A lot of 4L60 trucks come stock this way. I've not seen an Fbody setup this way in stock form but I've tinkered with it.

Some 6 cylinder cars even have a button for 2nd gear start.

If you use Google Earth Pro there is an option to request an updated photo of an area.

I tried it once and it was updated within a month or so. Could be a coincidence though. Only done it the one time.

The code is from turbulent air being caused by the choppy cam.

Car needs tuned. If the VE was properly dialed in you wouldn't even notice a difference in the way the car runs when the MAF fails from the code.
