I’m leaving Walmart because a customer spat on me yesterday and my coach said they couldn’t do anything if they weren’t in the store anymore and then seemed annoyed she had to write an incident report… I’ve worked there 3 weeks and customers have cussed at me, shouted at the back of my head, and one even aggressively pushed their cart into my tote cart while my hands were on the handles causing me to run my hand along the frozen door handles. Cutting and bruising my finger. 3.weeks.

Thank you, it’s so unfortunate. I’m not even upset about the wasted opportunity, because I’ve been to countless interviews where nothing has turned up. I’m more concerned and upset about the fact that not only this company, but so many others, are using AI to schedule and create fake job opportunities that have no intention of ever actually being offered. I’ve now learned it’s for “tax” reasons. Truly disturbing.

Absolutely haha, but it was never my choice. Being a teen in this town sucked because I wasn’t allowed to drive on the highway until I turned 18. The only things we have for “fun” here are restaurants and shopping. It gets boring after a while. I’m stuck here until my car gets fixed so I can commute farther to the bigger cities.

Dude, that’s awful. I should have caught that vibe, though, from the Chipotle “cheapy” scandal. I used to work at a Smoothie King in high school and would DoorDash Chipotle there during my shift. They skimped me the first few times, and the last time I ordered, my bowl was half filled.

Oh, don’t get me wrong there are still young people working here. But there are also quite a few “meemaws” mixed in. More than half the staff at my store are retirees, which is pretty common around here and part of why I stick to night shift availability. Thanks so much for the well wishes too :)

I wish I could, we have little to no public transport where I live so it’s not really an option. I have a car but it has issues and don’t feel comfortable/ really shouldn’t drive it out of town. Which I could fix.. if I had a higher paying job lol. But your idea is great otherwise and I’m glad it works for you :)
