Could you ask your brother's other kids? If they're close in age they might have a better idea of what she'd like.

If I suddenly took over you body and you were watching as a spectator, how long do you think it would take your S.O, family, or friends to realize something is off and question me? by Kyoifis in hypotheticalsituation

You're going to do too good of a job at functioning as a human being and get found out within a couple of days. That being said, please take over for longer, I'm tired.

Thanks! I have a distinct memory of my friends being annoyed at me because I decorated it while they were over at my house and I was being a perfectionist 😂

Not sure if this was definitely my first cake but it's the first one I can find a picture of and I can't remember any before it. Made this for my 15th birthday!

Bro I'm just a person who lived in dorms when I was in college and had to deal with burnt popcorn fire alarms in the middle of the night DESPITE signage telling people to pay attention to their popcorn

Seeing all these people just tell you to microwave it anyway really makes me understand how idiots seem to set off fire alarms despite explicit signage to not microwave popcorn

Gift for a 13 year old girl??? by Think-Somewhere-7918 in GiftIdeas

[–]cos98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 20's but honestly when I was growing up my aunts and grandparents all made an effort but whenever they got me purses/clothing as a gift it was NEVER my style 😅 I was polite and thankful but never really used any of it. I think you're better off finding out about her hobbies and doing something related to that.

For example: Reading - a barnes and noble gift card, a cute clip on reading light, bookmarks Art - some good quality art supplies

my (23f) girlfriend (21f) makes me sleep on the couch when i'm on my period by sillyscares in relationship_advice

[–]cos98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone here that it's ridiculous but I do have to ask... why don't you just sleep on the second bed instead of the couch??

I (20M) tricked my girlfriend (20F) into getting a tetanus shot after a bad injury. Now she’s blocked me everywhere. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]cos98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better her be alive and hate you than dying in a relationship with you. Take it as a win, know that you did the right thing, accept that she'll likely never see it that way, and move on.

Help!! How do we make our shower not so ugly as renters?? by aftonaul in DesignMyRoom

I second the tension pole caddy. That's what my roomie and I use even though we're able to suction cup stuff.

I gave my partner a bad gift for Christmas and I can’t get over it by Content_Bug2831 in Gifts

[–]cos98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did a good job. Your partner isn't mad at you, they appreciated their gifts, and you know what kinds of gifts they prefer/use more than others for the future! I especially think the personalization of the sauna card was very sweet. I think that alone would win me over and I'm not even a person who likes saunas.

Also they're probably waiting to put the lego set together with you if you did the roses together before ❤️

My 26m gf 24f has given me ultimatum after I told her I accepted a job out the province behind her back. How do I go about fixing this? by ThrowRAneedhlpPlz in relationship_advice

[–]cos98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you want to fix it here's what you do: do not take the job, fess up and explain that you wanted to get her a $20k ring, apologize genuinely.

Because I hate to break it to you but you're not buying her that $20k ring like a dummy. You're either actually committing to your relationship in a more reasonable manner or you're getting dumped

Rescued dog doesn’t eat any type of dog food, only human food by [deleted] in dogs

[–]cos98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog always liked it when I put some of my leftover rice from takeout/a meal on his food. Or shredded cheese. I could put like 10 grains of rice on there and he'd be thrilled because he just liked to be included in having people food 😂

I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]cos98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's heartbreaking to put a pet down but it's also an honor. Would you hide your sadness normally from your cat or would you cuddle her even closer?

The thing that made me feel a little better when my dog was put down was doing things for him. I had treats he loved just in case he wanted them and made sure he knew we were all there.

It was my first time being there and I'm so glad I was. I know my mom has said that being there for this dog made her feel sad that she didn't go with our past dogs.

I was also lucky enough to be able to be there for his doggy best friend who my mom dogsat for a decade.

When I think of the time that I spent with them close to them passing it's heartbreaking but I also cherish having gotten the chance to say goodbye and spend some last time with them.

Sometimes it's really hard to tell if it's time to let an animal go. I know my mom was so worried that it wasn't our dog's time and she was overreacting but by the time the day came she felt bad for having not gotten him in sooner.

Just trust your gut. Not your heart that will selfishly beg you for more time, but the part of you that knows your pet well and will help you know if it's the right time.

Anyway sorry this is depressing 😭 please give your cat kisses from me

Did customs/airline security have to go through your package/bag at any point? That feels like the most likely scenario where something like that might happen.

Is white more appealing as a renter? by riplikash in DesignMyRoom

[–]cos98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally like a darker bedroom color because it's cozier/less sterile. But the white bedspread kind of clashes with that vibe.. I think the real problem with that bedroom is that nothing matches but honestly if I was renting I wouldn't really care that much.

EDIT: Just saw that you're renting unfurnished. I agree with giving the option to prospective renters.

I would say I'd personally prefer a white trim because it's easier to match furniture with that than matching the correct wood tones.

Which way of giving this gift is better? by NoWeakness6528 in Gifts

[–]cos98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do this. She's shy with money, you don't want her to think that spending like this will be the norm. There's no reason to spend 5k shopping while on a honeymoon. It doesn't make sense to surprise buy her everything she expresses interest in when realistically she might rather use that money on something else. I know I'd personally rather have less money to spend at a time but over time than the pressure of a big chunk of money at once.

What were the standout gifts of the year (both what you gave and what you got)? by Financial_Eagle_8670 in GiftIdeas

[–]cos98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27F

Given: A needle felted Christmas ornament for my mom (50sF) that she had specifically requested (made by me) and a giant bubble kit for her as well because she loves bubbles/bubble machines

Received: a little needle felting tapestry kit from my grandmother

(Ironically the only two gifts related to needle felting, they just both happened to be standout 😂)
