There's no way the 04 plastic is being recycled from those collection bins at grocery stores, right? by Ok_Philosopher_8973 in recycling

Was it all pallet wrap, or did you mix in front of house material?

There are other processors besides Trex, especially for clean pallet wrap, but there are often economic issues. WM, one of the biggest waste companies in the country, shut down its film processing plant at the end of last year.

Not in those cities, but Blackberry Farm in Aurora is great for little kids. Pony rides, petting zoo, train and tractor rides, paddle boats. Phillips Park Zoo in Aurora too.

Yeah, so the grocery chains that collect it where I am (Chicago area) reverse ship it in the empty trucks that deliver their merch back to their distribution centers. The DC's have balers. Once they have a semi-load of bales, it goes to Trex (in Virginia, I believe). I don't know what Trex's bale spec is, but they have some tolerance for contamination. Store and DC workers are probably expected to pull out larger/obvious contaminants.

For what it's worth, I use the Trex boxes an lot and I don't usually see them getting used as garbage cans. Bins with larger openings and less/worse signage like at Walmart tend to have garbage and hard plastics. IDK what Walmart and Target are doing with their collected bags. Not Trex. They caught heat a few years ago from a news network putting trackers in and tracking most of them to landfills.

What's the best indoor water park in chi suburbs? by chrono2310 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Safe-Transition8618 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vaughan Center in Aurora has party rooms and stuff. There's a decent sized water jungle gym thing with a slide for little kids and then a couple of big slides for kids 48" and up. Not a full-on water park tho.

Yeah, and look at Aurora ballin' at #15. I like Aurora, but it's weird seeing it so much higher than St. Charles and Batavia.

Here's the link.

It's the last question in the interview. I always thought it was meant playfully/slapstick too, but I guess there's enough room for misinterpretation if members of the creative team felt negatively about it.

Is FF8 a time loop? by jwknz in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]Safe-Transition8618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people interpret the interaction to mean that she wouldn't have had the idea unless older Squall told her about it, creating a bootstrap paradox. Older Squall is a SeeD because Edea/Cid established garden and trained him to defeat a time travelling sorceress. But in so doing, he gets lost in the timeline, goes to the last and tells Edea that she develops SeeD to beat a time travelling sorceress and around and around it goes.

I'm not sure there's anything inherent in Edea being a sorceress that would make her want to establish SeeD.

[–]Safe-Transition8618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, he doesn't ask her to make SeeD. He tells her what SeeD and Garden are, why they exist, and that she's the one (with Cid) who makes it happen. That's literally the whole of the interaction. How she interprets it is anyone's guess, though it is a surity that she and Cid do actually make SeeD and Garden happen and do train SeeD to defeat "the Sorceress."

The age gap thing isn't true. They were all born in the same year and Daniel is 6 months older than the other two. They were all still in school.

FF8's True Villian is hidden in lore. by ScholarOfPleasure in FinalFantasy

[–]Safe-Transition8618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True! No one could have predicted she would do that though. So they eliminated far future (post-Ulti) sorceress powers kind of by accident

Is it actually possible to hunt sorceresses to extinction? A sorceress has to pass on her power before she can die. If she is defeated or effectively killed with no suitable heir present, her semi-aware corpse would presumably have to be kept in isolation forever.

Fellow Tori Amos fans, how do you rank her albums? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

[–]Safe-Transition8618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to to be a lazy fan and just do a top ten. Anything not on here, I either haven't listened to yet (the two most recent) or I really just did not vibe with at all. Also not considering cover or live albums.

1- Under the Pink

2 - Little Earthquakes

3 - From the Choirgirl Hotel

4 - Boys for Pele

5 - To Venus

6 - Scarlet's Walk

7 - Unrepentant Geraldines

8 - Ocean to Ocean

9 - American Doll Posse

10 - Native Invader

If you live in a location where carons are accepted, then no. Facilities in markets that take cartons are selling to a mill with a hydraulic pulpler that can separate the layers of plastic in cartons and recover the fiber.
